“Rays of Culture” awards presented to Petar Kurman and Snežana Davidović

Ahead of the New Year holidays, a ceremony was held last night in Kula at which the “Rays of Culture” awards were presented for significant achievements in creative and organizational work and in promoting cultural and educational activities in the municipality of Kula. This year’s recipients are Petar Kurman of Kula, a long-serving educator and cultural worker with the “Ivan Senjuk” Cultural and Artistic Society, and Snežana Davidović, gallery curator at the Kula Cultural Center Art Gallery. The awards were presented by Miladin Čepić, an amateur actor and member of the “Rays of Culture” Award Committee of the Cultural and Educational Association. The most prestigious award in the field of culture is traditionally presented by the Cultural and Educational Association of the Municipality of Kula.

Petar Kurman says he was surprised when they told him he had received the award, but is happy because it crowns his decades of work in education and culture. He spent his working life as a lower-grade teacher at Isa Bajić Elementary School. He also demonstrated his versatility and dedication to culture by writing scripts for plays in Ukrainian.

After more than two decades as a gallerist, amateur visual artist, and recipient of numerous awards and commendations, Snežana Davidović expressed her gratitude for this prestigious recognition. It should be noted that Snežana Davidović has presented her work at 23 solo exhibitions. She has taken part in numerous humanitarian art colonies and is also a member of the Cultural Center of Kula’s theater ensemble.

The pleasant atmosphere and enjoyment were provided by poet Miloš Galetin from Novi Bečej, musician Strahinja Galetin, and composer Srđan Bojić. Poetry and music lovers enjoyed an engaging music-and-poetry program held in the concert hall of the Primary Music Education School, with all preventive measures observed.
