Residents of Nova Crvenka and their guests celebrated the Day of this settlement. In addition to the Settlement Day, Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag Day was also marked. The program began with guests and hosts gathering in front of the monument in the village center, after which a memorial service was held and wreaths were laid at the Monument to the Salonika Volunteers, participants in the liberation wars from 1912 to 1918. The memorial service was conducted by presbyter Radovan Maljković, acting parish priest of Crvenka, while wreaths were laid by delegations from the Municipality of Kula, the Nova Crvenka Local Community, the Nova Crvenka Pensioners’ Association, the Nova Crvenka Association of Descendants of Salonika Volunteers and the SUBNOR of the Municipality of Kula. The program continued at the Cultural Center, where a fitting cultural and artistic program was held.
The President of the Municipality of Kula, Dr. Vesna Tomić, emphasized that Nova Crvenka is a place of hardworking, persevering and good people, a place that preserves its traditions while also having the strength and desire to develop and progress, and that she was very pleased to have the opportunity to congratulate residents on a very important day and address them:
“Today is a great and significant day for Nova Crvenka, a day when we preserve the tradition and memory of the history of a place, a place of great and courageous fighters. On this occasion, I would like to wholeheartedly congratulate all the residents of Nova Crvenka on Settlement Day, both in my personal capacity and on behalf of the Municipality of Kula.
I am especially pleased that today we are also marking Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag Day. In this way, we are celebrating several important dates together, honoring tradition and cherishing the values that unite us.
Days like this show that, as a community, we stand together in everything—we respect differences, nurture togetherness and support both smaller and larger settlements throughout the Municipality of Kula. Nova Crvenka is an important part of our municipality, and I wish its residents many more years of success, progress, unity and pride.”
