An eventful football weekend behind us

Hajduk 1912 of Kula defeated hosts ČSK Pivara 1:0 in Čelarevo in the third round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina Group, recording their second consecutive win. Coach Dragan Ivanović’s team were the better side and capped their performance with a goal by Aleksandar Milikić in the closing stages. Hajduk 1912 are currently third in the table with 7 points, and host Dinamo 1945 from Pančevo in Kula in the next round.

Crvenka’s footballers earned their first point in the Vojvodina League. In the third round of the championship, Crvenka visited Vrbas, where they drew 1:1 with hosts OFK Vrbas. Crvenka were the better side in the first half, creating several excellent chances that their forwards failed to convert, and, as so often happens, they were made to pay. Vrbas took the lead with practically their only well-worked attack of the second half. But the Crvenka players refused to accept defeat and earned a point with a goal by Kerekeš. Crvenka are fourteenth in the table with one point, and host Mladost from Bački Petrovac in the fourth round of the championship.

The third round of the Sombor District League was marked by a municipal derby in Ruski Krstur, as well as a highly effective performance by Kula’s footballers. In the municipal derby in Ruski Krstur, hosts Rusin convincingly defeated Lipar 5:0. The team coached by Ranko Delić outperformed Lipar in every aspect of the game, and the win could have been even more decisive. Experienced Srđan Đukanović scored twice for Rusin, while Stefan Kočiš, Aleksandar Čizmar, and Ognjen Marković also scored. Kula’s footballers thrashed Bораc from Obrovac at the Geder stadium. Kula won 8:0, and the hero of the emphatic victory was striker Dejan Davidović, who, after Mitrić scored the opener, beat Borac’s goalkeeper as many as seven times. Our fourth representative in the Sombor District League, Polet, lost 4:2 to Slavija from Pivnice in Sivac, with the half-time score 2:2. Romić and Marković scored for Polet. After the third round, Rusin is third in the table with 7 points, Kula is seventh, and Lipar ninth, each with 4 points, while Polet is twelfth with 2 points. In the next round, Lipar host Krila Krajine, Rusin visit Budućnost in Parage, Polet visit Borac in Obrovac, and Kula travel to Bačka Palanka to face league leaders Stari Grad.

The season has also begun in the first and second divisions of the Sombor Intermunicipal League. In the first round of the First Division, Mladost from Kruščić lost 1:0 away to Omladinac in Deronje. In the second round, Mladost will host Aleksa Šantić in Kruščić.

In the first round of the second division of the Sombor Intermunicipal League, Kulа football club KFK were due to visit Sport in Bezdan. The Kula side did not travel to the match, which will be recorded as a 3:0 for Sport, and KFK will be docked a point. In the second round, KFK are due to host OFK Metalac from Sombor.

Football fans in Kula also got to see Super League action yesterday. In the 7th round of the Serbian Super League, Spartak Ždrepčeva krv beat Dinamo from Vranje 2:0 in Kula yesterday. Marčić scored both goals for the Subotica side. Spartak Ždrepčeva krv will play its next match in Kula on 15 September, when it hosts Napredak from Kruševac.
