At yesterday’s meeting, the Serbian government adopted four financial support programs from the Ministry of Economy for small and medium-sized enterprises, with two billion dinars allocated. Economy Minister Anđelka Atanasković explained that the programs cover equipment purchases, promoting entrepreneurship through development projects, support for starting a business, and a program for young people and women entrepreneurs. Public calls are expected to be announced in early February. According to her, the largest amount—1,55 billion dinars—has been allocated for equipment purchases. Of this, grants may account for 25 percent of the funds for this purpose, 70 percent is provided by a bank or leasing company, and the company itself contributes five percent. A public call for partner banks and leasing companies providing co-financing under this program is expected in early February, after which public calls will be announced for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, entrepreneurs and cooperatives to apply for grants.
