Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovičić and his associates, along with Davor Štefanek, President, and Goran Marinković, Secretary of the Sports Association of Serbia, as well as Dane Basta, Provincial Secretary for Sport and Youth, visited the Municipality of Kula today. The senior guests were welcomed by the local government leaders, headed by the Chair of the Interim Authority, Damjan Miljanić, who accompanied them first to the Isa Bajić Primary School in Kula. The school principal, Mirjana Ivić Mihajlović, briefly introduced the school to the guests, and the school’s most successful athletes gave them a warm welcome and took the opportunity to have a group photo. The guests, led by Minister Udovičić, brought sports equipment for the school gym to Isa Bajić Primary School. Minister Udovičić and the other guests then visited the Slobodan Čile Mišković Sports Hall in Crvenka to see how work on the renovation of the sports facility was progressing. Most of the necessary funding was provided by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Damjan Miljanić, President of the Provisional Authority of the Municipality of Kula, first thanked the senior officials for visiting our community today, and said on that occasion:
“Here we are in the Crvenka sports hall, where the work is practically complete. Most of it was funded by the Ministry of Sport. What matters to us is that everything promised over the past years has been delivered. For the coming period, we still have one more phase of renovation to complete, after which the hall will be fully refurbished and serve its full purpose,” said Miljanić.
In his address to media representatives, Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovičić said:
“We came here to show, as a team, how ready we are to improve the position of young people locally, to visit the municipality, to talk with local sports clubs, and also to provide the best possible conditions for school sports. We are here today to demonstrate the very significant synergy between local government and the provincial secretariat, together with the Sports Association of Serbia as the umbrella organization, and to see how we can help local clubs. But most importantly, we are here today to show that we have delivered on what we promised: to see on the ground what we have achieved together, to take pride in our actions and the result on the scoreboard, and to see what we can do in the coming period so that not only the handball players of Crvenka and athletes from Kula, but I must say all athletes from the Province and the Republic, have the best possible conditions for training and work. Crvenka has a handball tradition, and certainly a sporting tradition as well. I would like to thank the president of the Interim Authority of the Municipality of Kula, whose actions have shown how much he cares about athletes and young people in his municipality. Allocating 8,5 percent of the local budget is highly commendable and sets an example for others, because it demonstrates respect for youth policy and a commitment to improving the position of athletes and strengthening local sport,” said Udovičić.
Minister Udovičić and his associates also donated new balls to Crvenka Handball Club. There was also a group photo with the Olympic champions, and members of the journalism club at Vuk Karadžić Primary School interviewed Minister Vanja Udovičić for Plamenko, the School Sports Association’s magazine.
