Hajduk’s futsal team lost to Novi Sad Futsal Club by 10:1 in the Vojvodina Cup final played in Novi Sad. Although reaching the Vojvodina Cup final was a great achievement for Hajduk’s futsal players, and it was expected that the prospect of competing for the trophy would provide additional motivation, Novi Sad outplayed Hajduk in every aspect of the game and deservedly won. Sušić scored Hajduk’s consolation goal in the Vojvodina Futsal Cup final.
In the second round of the Vojvodina Cadet Championship, Hajduk’s cadet women’s volleyball team beat Vrbas’s cadet team 3:0 in sets in front of their home fans in Kula. Hajduk’s coach, Vuk Malenica, says his players learned from the defeat in the first round, and played bravely against the team from Vrbas from start to finish, which brought them the result. Excellent reception by serve receivers Nastasia Vendel and Maja Grozdić, as well as libero Adrijana Bukejlović, allowed setter Una Pješčić to involve all her teammates, while Milica Mizdrak stood out as a scorer. Malenica also notes the contribution of opposite hitter Anđela Ševin, who served excellently as well as playing brilliantly in defense, and middle blocker Ana Stojović. When all the players perform at their best, the victory is just as convincing. Hajduk’s cadets won the first set 25:20, the second 25:12, and the third 25:18. In the third round, Hajduk’s volleyball players host Maglić and, with a possible win, would secure a place in the round of 16 of the Vojvodina Cadet Championship.
Our sports clubs, which are preparing for the spring half of the season, used last weekend to assess their preparations so far through friendly matches.
Crvenka’s handball team, members of the Super B League, defeated the Lavovi team from Bačka Palanka 40:25 in a friendly match played in Ruski Krstur. Crvenka handball coach Miloš Mitrović notes that the difference in quality was evident, but that his players showed a high level of commitment and effort, including running, bearing in mind that this was their first warm-up match. An opponent is being sought for a second warm-up match, which should be played this week. According to the established schedule, Crvenka’s handball players will play Sivac on 9 February, then take part in the “Drago Jovović” Memorial Tournament in Vrbas on 11 and 12 February.
Hajduk’s footballers, members of the Serbian League Vojvodina group, hosted ŽAK from Sombor at the Vašarište ground. ŽAK are second in the Sombor District League. This was Hajduk’s first warm-up match, and they won 3:0. Hajduk head coach Željko Račić gave all candidates for the starting lineup a chance, and Kočiš, Bogićević and Matijašević scored. Hajduk’s footballers will have their next fitness test on Wednesday, when they visit Vrbas.
As part of their preparations for the resumption of the Serbian First Regional League, Hajduk’s basketball team visited Gajdobra, where they lost 86:59 to Hercegovac, a member of the Serbian Second League. Kula played this game without Đurović, Koprivica, Lješević, Rnić and Baranovski, so youngsters Šupica, Ilić and Stelić, who is only 14 years old, got a chance to play. In the first half, Hajduk’s players put up a good fight against the physically fitter team, and Hercegovac won that half 48:42. The third quarter proved decisive, with the home team winning it 28:10. Hajduk will play a friendly against Akademik from Srbobran on Wednesday, and already on Saturday they face Podrinje in Mačvanska Mitrovica in a league match.
