Football, handball, basketball and volleyball will be in the sports spotlight this weekend

In round 26 of the Serbian League Vojvodina group championship, Hajduk will host Sloga from Čonoplja. Buoyed by their win in Stari Banovci in the previous round, Hajduk’s footballers say they will seal that success with another victory against the team from Čonoplja. Their optimism is also based on playing at home and on captain Vuković’s return to the team after a break. The match against Sloga is very important, as Sloga are also fighting to stay in the Serbian League and will certainly not give up in advance, promising an interesting game. The match between Hajduk and Sloga from Čonoplja will be played tomorrow at the Milan Sredanović Stadium in Kula, kicking off at 16.

In round 22 of the Vojvodina League North group championship, Crvenka's footballers host Mladost APA from Apatin. Crvenka are fighting to avoid relegation, while Mladost APA are safe, with as many as 15 points more than Crvenka. Add to that the fact that Crvenka will be without suspended goalkeeper Gostović, as well as Zelić and Marko Kerekeš, and those in the starting lineup will have to give their all if they want a favourable result. The match between Crvenka and Mladost from Apatin will be played tomorrow at the Milorad Džomba Stadium and will start at 16.

In round 22 of the Sombor District League championship, Rusin from Ruski Krstur travel to Sombor to face ŽAK. Their home defeat in the previous round spoiled the impression they had made in the spring, so the match against ŽAK is a chance to make amends. ŽAK and Rusin will play in Sombor tomorrow, with kickoff at 16.

In round 17 of the first division of the Sombor Intermunicipal League, representatives of the Kula municipality are playing away. Kula should have the easiest task, as they travel to face penultimate-placed Jedinstvo in Ribarevo. Lipar are also favorites against Terekveš in Svilojevo, while Sivac’s Polet face a tougher match against Hajduk in Stapар in a clash between mid-table teams. Our fourth representative at this level, Mladost from Kruščić, have a bye this round. All the scheduled matches take place on Sunday and kick off at 16.

Handball news

Crvenka handball players, who are striving to secure their place in the Serbian ARKUS Super League through the relegation playoff, are taking a break. The competition calendar schedules a break this week, and next week the Serbian Cup finals will be held, so the “squirrels” will be resting until 17, that is, 18 April, when they face Novi Pazar. However, Sivac’s men’s handball team and the Laki women’s team will be in action this weekend.

In the 15 round of the Super B League championship, Sivac’s handball team travel to face Smederevo. Sivac had a great spring run, but that came to an end when they lost at home to Voždovac in the previous round, and it remains to be seen how quickly they can recover from that setback. Given also that Smederevo are aiming for promotion, currently sit second in the standings and have home-court advantage, they are the favorites in the match, which will be played in Smederevo tomorrow, kicking off at 13.

The young Crvenka handball players, the Laki team, will host Sloven from Ruma in round 14 of the First League championship. The visitors are third in the league, have a more experienced squad, and are certainly closer to victory. The Laki–Sloven match will be played on Sunday in the Slobodan Čile Mišković Hall in Crvenka, beginning at 18.

In round 6 of the First Serbian League playoffs, Hajduk's basketball players host Stara Pazova. Kula are in the upper part of the table but have no chance of earning promotion, so this is a good opportunity to give young players a chance at the end of the season, allowing them to gain experience for next season. The match between Hajduk and Stara Pazova will be played tomorrow in the Petefi Brigade Primary School gym and will start at 19.

The sixteenth round of the First Vojvodina League volleyball championship will feature a major derby. In Novi Sad, second-place team Novi Sad 2 will face league leaders Hajduk from Kula. The players from Kula have a three-point advantage, have strung together nine consecutive wins, and are determined to keep the streak going. The match between Hajduk and Novi Sad 2 will be played in Novi Sad tomorrow, beginning at 12. In the fifth round of the Second Vojvodina League championship, Hajduk’s women’s team will host Jedinstvo from Novi Bečej. This match will be played tomorrow in the Petefi Brigade Elementary School gym, beginning at 16 hours and 30 minutes.
