Vojvodina Cross-Country Championship on Sunday at Crvenka’s “Potok”

The Potok picnic area in Crvenka will host the Vojvodina Cross-Country Championships for all age groups on Sunday. In addition to the championships, a Jaffa Cross for athletics schools will also be held. The athletics spectacle is organized by the Crvenka Athletics Club, and the program begins on Sunday at 10, with the Jaffa Cross first, followed by the Vojvodina Cross-Country Championships at 11. The competition is held in accordance with the regulations of the Vojvodina Athletics Federation and the Serbian Athletics Federation.

Neđo Zorić, coach of the Crvenka Athletics Club, said that hosting the provincial cross-country championships was a natural follow-up to a wonderful anniversary: 40 years since the founding of the Crvenka Athletics Club:

“This year, as our club celebrates 40 years of existence, we decided to organize the Vojvodina Cross-Country Championship, as well as the Jaffa Cross for children from athletics schools across Vojvodina. We expect it to be a wonderful event for Crvenka and for all the competitors from Vojvodina. As for the Jaffa Cross, children from first to fourth grade of elementary school will run a distance of 300 meters. Girls and boys will run separately, with separate races for each grade. The Vojvodina Championship will feature all age groups, with distances ranging from 1000 to 5000 meters. Younger girls will run 1000, younger boys 1500 meters, older girls 2000 meters, while older boys will run a distance 500 meters longer. Juniors will run 3000 meters, and seniors 5000 meters. I believe there will be some excellent races and that all visitors will be pleased. As for the clubs’ participation, out of 29 clubs in Vojvodina, we expect more than 20 of them to take part. Some of the clubs that have confirmed their participation are Rusin from Ruski Krstur, Hajduk Marathon Team from Kula, Marathon from Sombor, Obilić from Novi Kneževac, and many others.”
