Nova Crvenka Local Community has been awarded 3.038.000 dinars in a competition run by the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry. According to Ognjen Kovačević, president of the Nova Crvenka Local Community Council, the funds received from the provincial budget will be used to build a new water supply network in the village. The province had previously allocated two million dinars for this purpose.
- We will build a completely new water supply network using polyethylene pipes, while the old network will remain underground. Households in the village will receive free connections to the new water supply network. We also plan to rehabilitate one of the two wells at the water source, which has been out of operation for ten years. By installing a new pump at that well, we will increase the pressure in the water pipes and thereby improve the village’s drinking water supply, says Kovačević.
More than four million dinars are still needed to build a new water supply network in the village, and this is expected to be secured by the end of this year with assistance from the province.
