The sports weekend for clubs from Kula Municipality begins tonight

In round 17 of the Super B League handball championship, Sivac 69 travel to Vrbas tonight to face Vrbas Petrol. After last round’s victory, which consolidated their position in the upper part of the standings, Sivac’s handball players enter tonight’s match considerably more relaxed. Vrbas Petrol, on the other hand, are under pressure: they are second from bottom, fighting to avoid relegation, and can only do so by winning. Vrbas’s need to win gives Sivac’s players an opportunity to get the desired result through patient, disciplined play. The Vrbas Petrol–Sivac 69 handball match in Vrbas will begin tonight at 18 hours.

In the ARKUS Serbian Super League relegation group, Crvenka’s handball players travel to Belgrade to face Red Star. After losing at home to Novi Pazar in the previous round, Crvenka’s hopes of staying in the top flight have been reduced to a theoretical possibility, but as someone once said, hope dies last. It is up to coach Vladimir Zejak’s players to give their all; the result will reflect their determination, fighting spirit, and discipline. The Red Star–Crvenka handball match will be played in Belgrade tomorrow, starting at 18 hours and 30 minutes.

In the 17 round of the First League championship, the Laki women’s handball team hosts Mokrin in Crvenka. It will be a clash between teams fighting to avoid relegation, and the young women handballers from Crvenka say they will make use of home-court advantage and earn valuable points. The Laki–Mokrin match will be played in the Crvenka sports hall on Sunday, with a start time of 18 hours and 30 minutes.

In the 20 round of the Second League championship, the Sivac women’s handball team, Krule, hosts Prigrevica. The women from Sivac have practically secured the championship title and are the strongest team in the league, so another convincing win can be expected. The Krule–Prigrevica match will be played tomorrow in the Sivac sports hall, with a start time of 16 hours and 30 minutes.

In the 30 round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina group, Hajduk hosts Tisa from Adorjan. Hajduk won in Pančevo in the previous round and has a new head coach, Ivica Francišković, who marked his debut on the bench with a victory. Riding this wave of positive momentum, “the Hajduks” say they will seal their success in Pančevo with a win over Tisa and firmly establish themselves in mid-table. Tisa is an experienced team, currently eighth in the table with three points more than Hajduk, so a win would see the team from Kula overtake their opponents. The match between Hajduk and Tisa from Adorjan will be played tomorrow at the Milan Sredanović Stadium, with a start time of 16 hours and 30 minutes.

In round 27 of the Northern group of the Vojvodina League, Crvenka’s footballers travel to Lovćenac to face Njegoš. The hosts won in Vrbas in the previous round and, buoyed by that success and the fact that they are playing at home, are announcing a victory. Crvenka, meanwhile, has been inconsistent: two rounds ago they won in Bačka Palanka, but last round they lost in Crvenka. So, if that trend is anything to go by, the Lovćenac team are favorites. The match between Njegoš and Crvenka will be played in Lovćenac tomorrow, kicking off at 16 hours and 30 minutes.

In the 25 round of the Sombor District League championship, Rusin from Ruski Krstur travel to Kljajićevo, where they are due to face Kordun. The team from Krstur have failed to win any of their last four matches and are gradually falling behind in the race for second place, which offers a playoff for promotion to a higher division. If they want to keep up with their rivals for that position, they must start winning. The Kordun–Rusin match will be played in Kljajićevo on Sunday, starting at 16 hours and 30 minutes.

The 20 round of the championship is scheduled in the Sombor Intermunicipal League, First Division. Second-placed Lipar host Dunav from Bački Monoštor. The visitors are second to last in the table, which says enough about who the favorites are. Polet host bottom-placed Jedinstvo from Ribarevo in Sivac, and anything other than a Sivac win would be a surprise. Kula travel to Aleksa Šantić, while Mladost from Kruščić visit OFK Odžaci. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday and kick off at 16 hours and 30 minutes.

We report other current events

In round 15 of the Serbian First League championship—Vojvodina group—Hajduk’s bowlers host Vojvodina from Bačko Gradište. A win is essential for the team from Kula if they are to maintain their First League status. The match between Hajduk and Vojvodina from Bačko Gradište will be played on Sunday in Vrbas, starting at 16.

Hajduk’s women’s volleyball team host Sutjeska from Bačko Dobro Polje in round eight of the Second Vojvodina League championship. The women from Kula are second in the standings and are waiting for an opportunity to take the top spot, so it is clear why they say that a win would bring them one step closer to that goal. The match between Hajduk and Sutjeska from Bačko Dobro Polje will be played on Sunday in the hall of the Petefi Brigada Elementary School in Kula, starting at 14.
