The upcoming sports weekend will feature football, handball, and basketball.
Over the weekend, our football teams conclude the autumn half-season. In the final round of the autumn half of the Serbian League, Vojvodina group, Hajduk’s footballers travel to Perlez to face Vojvodina. The hosts are bottom of the table, while Kula’s team performed strongly and scored freely in the previous round. Riding high on that form, Hajduk’s footballers say they will earn points in Perlez to consolidate their position in mid-table. The match between Vojvodina and Hajduk will be played in Perlez on Sunday, kicking off at 13.
In the final round of the autumn half of the Vojvodina League, North group, Crvenka’s footballers host Vojvodina from Bačko Gradište. Crvenka faces a difficult task, as the league leaders are coming to town, while the home side needs points to catch up with the teams in mid-table. Anything short of a win would push Crvenka into the group of teams fighting to stay in the league. The match between Crvenka and Vojvodina from Bačko Gradište will be played tomorrow at “Milorad Džomba” Stadium in Crvenka, kicking off at 13.
In the ninth round of the Serbian ARKUS Super League, Crvenka’s handball team visit Subotica to face Spartak. Crvenka have yet to taste victory, and given that Subotica beat them in Crvenka, Vladimir Zejak’s players say they will give their all to avenge that defeat. As for the squad, Crvenka will be without Veljko Čabril due to illness and Mitrović due to injury. Captain Radonjić, who has a knee problem, is also doubtful, while all the other players are ready for the match. The match between Spartak and Crvenka will be played in Subotica tomorrow and will begin at 18.
As part of the 9 round of the Super B League, Sivac’s handball team were scheduled to visit Bačka Palanka on Sunday to play the “Lavovi” team. However, the match was postponed because a large number of Lavovi players were infected. Due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the Board of the Super B League Clubs Association, which is responsible, among other things, for setting the competition schedule, submitted a proposal to the Handball Federation of Serbia to amend the competition calendar. It proposed suspending the Super B League championship and resuming it on 22 February with the tenth-round matches; rescheduling the matches from round 9 that were supposed to be played over the weekend to 15 February; and requiring that postponed matches from rounds six, seven and eight be played by 15 December.
The young Crvenka handball players, the Laki team, have postponed their match in round 8 of the First League due to the unfavourable epidemiological situation. They were due to face the team of the same name in Temerin.
In the 9 round of the Serbian First League championship, Hajduk’s basketball players host Srem from Sremska Mitrovica. In the previous round, the players from Kula suffered an unexpected defeat to Podrinje from Mačvanska Mitrovica, so the match against Srem is a chance to make amends. It will not be easy, however, as Srem have won every match so far this season. The match between Hajduk and Srem from Sremska Mitrovica will be played tomorrow in the Petefi Brigade Elementary School gym in Kula, starting at 19.
