Sports weekend: The First Women’s Football League begins, Sivac’s women host Radnički

As we move into autumn, there are more and more sporting events. The handball league also begins this weekend.

In the opening round of the Super B League, Crvenka’s handball players will host Vrbas in front of their home fans. The two teams recently met in the Čile Memorial tournament, which Vrbas won, but Crvenka’s camp stresses that a match for points is something different and that, with the support of the crowd, they will do everything to win in their season opener. The match between Crvenka and Vrbas will be played tomorrow at the sports hall in Crvenka, and will start at 18.

The First League season is also getting underway. In their league opener, Sivac’s handball players will visit Mladost TSK in Temerin. Sivac have largely retained last year’s squad, trained well during the preseason and gained a year of First League experience, and they are building their optimism on these factors. The match between Mladost and Sivac will be played in Temerin on Sunday, starting at 18.

Football news.

The women’s First League football championship begins this weekend, with Polet from Sivac among the competing teams. In the first round, the women from Sivac will host Radnički 2012 from Niš in front of their supporters and will be hoping for a win. The match will be played tomorrow at Polet Stadium in Sivac, kicking off at 16.

The sixth round of the Sombor District League will feature a match between Stanišić and Crvenka, teams that have each won all five of their matches so far. Stanišić have the advantage of playing in front of their home fans, but Crvenka also insist that their performance will show they are at the top of the table for a reason. The match is scheduled for tomorrow. Also taking to the field tomorrow are Hajduk Junior, who will host BSK from Bački Gračac in Kula. The Kula side are in improving form, and anything other than a win for the “Juniors” would be a major surprise. Mladost will also play tomorrow, hosting ŽAK from Sombor in Kruščić. The Kruščić side are promising a win to make amends for their disastrous defeat in Bačka Palanka in the previous round. Our other District League teams will take the field on Sunday. Lipar will host Vojvodina from Tovariševo in front of their supporters, and a win would strengthen Lipar’s position in the upper part of the table. Rusin will host third-placed Krila Krajine from Bačka Palanka in Ruski Krstur, but buoyed by their away win in the previous round, they are promising another triumph. Our sixth representative, Kula, will host Budućnost from Parage at the Geder ground on Sunday. Kula have no choice: they must win if they want to move up from the bottom of the table. All Sombor District League matches will start at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

In the fourth round of the first division of the Sombor Intermunicipal League, Polet from Sivac travel to play Radnički in Ratkovo. Sivac have not lost in the first three rounds and will certainly want to keep it that way after this away match. The match between Radnički and Polet will be played in Ratkovo on Sunday, kicking off at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

In the third round of the Sombor Inter-Municipal League Second Division, Kula Football Club (KFK) travels to face Terekveš in Svilajevo. The match will be played on Sunday, kicking off at 15 hours and 30 minutes.
