In the fourth round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina Group, Hajduk’s footballers host OFK Bačka from Bačka Palanka in front of their home supporters. The clash between former members of our top division is attracting interest, and the teams’ positions in the table point to an exciting match. Both Hajduk and OFK Bačka have earned four points in the first three rounds. The Kula side say they respect their opponents, but will do everything they can to make the most of home advantage and, with the expected support from the stands, secure a win. The match between Hajduk and OFK Bačka from Bačka Palanka will kick off tomorrow at Milan Sredanović Stadium at 16 hours and 30 minutes.
In the fourth round of the championship in the Sombor District League, Crvenka’s footballers host league leaders Hajduk from Stapar on their home ground tomorrow. The clash with the leaders is a real test that will answer whether Crvenka can join the fight for the very top of the table and contend for promotion to a higher division. Rusin host Kordun from Kljajićevo in Ruski Krstur on Sunday. The Krstur side are unbeaten, and with the bottom-placed team visiting them, anything other than a Rusin win would be a surprise. Our third representative, Lipar, visit Obrovac on Sunday, where they meet Borac. Lipar have made a superb start to the season, recording three consecutive wins, and are determined to extend that run in Obrovac. All these matches will start at 16 hours and 30 minutes.
In the fourth round of the Sombor Intermunicipal League, First Division championship, only one of the three teams from our municipality, Mladost from Kruščić, will play at home. The Kruščić team will host Terekveš from Svilojevo, who have yet to earn a point this season. Sivac’s Polet will visit BSK in Bački Brestovac. The home team appears to be the favorite in that match, having won all three of its games. Our third representative, Kula, will visit Aleksa Šantić. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday and will kick off at 16 hours and 30 minutes.
The 17 annual memorial handball tournament “Vlade and Novak,” organized by Handball Club Sivac in memory of two of its members, Vlade Džuver and Novak Stijepović, who tragically lost their lives, will be held in Sivac tomorrow. This year’s memorial tournament features, alongside the hosts Sivac, the teams of Apatin, Ub and Jedinstvo from Novi Bečej. Sivac and Apatin will meet in the first match, starting at 16 hours, followed by Ub and Jedinstvo from Novi Bečej at 17 hours. At 18 hours, the losing teams will play for third place, and the final will start at 19 hours.
Our other Super League team, Crvenka’s handball players, will take part tomorrow in Gajdobra in the first “Spasoje Spaso Janjić” Memorial Tournament, organized by Handball Club Hercegovac from Gajdobra in memory of the late national team player Spasoje Janjić, who began his career at Hercegovac and enjoyed the finest moments of his playing career as a member of Crvenka. Alongside the hosts, the newly promoted Super B League team Hercegovac, and Crvenka, the tournament will also feature the teams Lavovi from Bačka Palanka and Metalac from Futog.
