Tomorrow in Kula, as part of the 28 edition of the Stevan Ćele Vilotić Memorial International Youth Tournament, Serbia and Portugal will face each other at Milan Sredanović Stadium. This is the second-round match of the tournament. In the first round, Serbia’s youth team beat Finland 3:1, while Portugal beat France 2:0, so the winner of tomorrow’s match in Kula will be close to winning the tournament. The Serbia–Portugal match in Kula will begin tomorrow at 16.
In the seventh round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina group, Hajduk travel to Odžaci to face Tekstilac. The clash between these long-time sporting rivals is attracting attention both for the prestige and because both teams have made a good start to the season: Tekstilac are currently fifth and Hajduk sixth, each with 10 points. The Tekstilac–Hajduk match will be played in Odžaci tomorrow, kicking off at 15 hours and 30 minutes.
Of the three teams from our municipality in the seventh round of the Sombor District League, only Lipar are playing at home. Lipar will host Polet from Karavukovo on their own ground. Given that Lipar are unbeaten so far this season and are playing in front of their home fans, another successful result is to be expected. Rusin from Ruski Krstur, currently top of the table, will visit third-placed Hajduk in Stapar. This match will be a real test of Rusin’s true strength. Our third representative, Crvenka, will visit Naša zvezda in Silbaš. If Crvenka want to keep pace with the leading teams, they must win. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday, kicking off at 15 hours and 30 minutes.
Unlike the District League teams, all three teams from our municipality competing in the Sombor Intermunicipal League First Division are playing at home in the seventh round. The derby will take place in Kula, where fourth-placed Kula will face league leaders BSK from Bački Brestovac at the Geder ground. Kula believe home advantage is on their side and are targeting a win. Polet will host second-placed Omladinac from Deronje in Sivac, meaning the home team will need to give their all if they want to win. Mladost will host OFK Odžaci in Kruščić. These matches will also be played on Sunday, kicking off at 15 hours and 30 minutes.
Handball news coming up
In the second round of the Super B League, both teams from our municipality, Crvenka and Sivac 69, are playing at home. Crvenka will host Smederevo in the “Slobodan Čile Mišković” sports hall. Coach Vladimir Zejak’s players say they respect Smederevo, but a win is imperative, as the “squirrels” began the season with high ambitions. Sivac 69 will host Ub in front of their home fans. The two teams recently faced each other at the “Vlade i Novak” Memorial Tournament, so they know each other well. Sivac are determined to make amends for their first-round loss to Sinđelić with a strong performance. The Crvenka–Smederevo handball match will begin at 18 on Sunday in Crvenka, while the Sivac 69–Ub match will also take place on Sunday in Sivac, starting at 19.
The First League championship for women’s handball players is also getting underway, featuring Laki from Crvenka and Krule from Sivac, both from our municipality. In their opening match, Laki will host Proleter from Zrenjanin in front of their home fans on Sunday. The match will begin at 20 at the “Slobodan Čile Mišković” Sports Hall. Women’s Handball Club “Krule” from Sivac was scheduled to play Sombor’s Ravangrad in the first round. However, the Sombor team withdrew from the competition, so Krule has a bye in the opening round.
The second annual “Boris and Fare” Memorial Basketball Tournament, organized by the Sivac Youth Basketball Club in memory of its two late members, Boris Đunisijević and Cvetozar Miravljev – Fare, will be held in Sivac on Sunday. This year's memorial tournament will feature basketball players born in 2009 or later, with basketball clubs from Odžaci, Sombor's Joker, Apatin and Sivac competing. The tournament will open on Sunday with a match between Sivac and Odžaci, starting at 10, followed by Joker versus Apatin at 11 and 30. The losing teams in these matches will play for third place at 13, while the final of the “Boris and Fare” Memorial will begin at 14.
Tomorrow, Tennis Club “Hajduk” will hold its club championship for all age categories on its courts in Kula. The competition will begin at 9.
In round three of the Serbian First League championship—Vojvodina Group—Hajduk’s bowlers will visit Zrenjanin on Sunday to face Banat. The match will start at 11.
