Sports weekend

Our men’s first-league handball teams are playing at home in the 17 round of the championship. On Saturday at 18, Crvenka’s handball players will host Jabuka in front of their fans. Crvenka lost in Žabalj last round, so the match against Jabuka is an opportunity to make amends. Our other representative, Sivac 69, will host Banatski Karlovac at the Crvenka sports hall on Sunday. Sivac have no choice: only a win will keep them in the fight to avoid relegation, while anything else would practically mean the end of their first-league ambitions. The Sivac–Banatski Karlovac match will begin on Sunday at 20. Our representative in the women’s first league, Laki from Crvenka, travel to Petrovaradin. The women from Crvenka are the surprise team of the spring, having strung together five consecutive wins, and will try to continue that run in Petrovaradin. The Petrovaradin–Laki match will be played tomorrow, starting at 15.

The twentieth round of the Sombor District League championship will feature a municipal derby. Hajduk Junior and Polet from Sivac will meet in Kula. In the previous round, the team from Kula recorded its first point of the spring season, while the Sivac team are fighting desperately to avoid relegation, adding extra interest to the derby. Our other representatives will play away. Mladost from Kruščić travels to Bačka Palanka to face Stari Grad, Rusin from Ruski Krstur visits bottom-placed Borac in Bački Gračac, while Lipar will play Hercegovac in Gajdobra. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday and will kick off at 16.

In round 15 of the Sombor Intermunicipal League championship, both of our representatives are playing away. Second-placed Crvenka will travel to Deronje to face Omladinac, while Kula are away to Aleksa Šantić. These matches are also scheduled for Sunday and will kick off at 16 o’clock.

In the 14 round of the Sombor Intermunicipal League Second Division, Kula Football Club (KFK) host Metalac from Sombor. The teams are in the middle of the table, so an interesting match can be expected. It will be played tomorrow at the city stadium in Kula, kicking off at 16.

In round 24 of the First Serbian League championship, Hajduk's basketball players visit Kovin, where they will face Radnički tomorrow starting at 19, while Crvenka's basketball players will host Sveti Đorđe from Žitište in front of their home fans on Sunday, starting at 18.

In the 24 round of the Second Serbian League, Sivac’s basketball players will host Tisa from Bečej on Sunday in Kula, at the Petefi Brigade elementary school gym, starting at 13.

In the final round of the First Vojvodina League championship, Hajduk’s bowlers host Spartak from Debeljača in front of their home fans. The Kula team are determined to bid farewell to their fans with a win. The match between Hajduk and Spartak from Debeljača will be played on Sunday at the bowling alley at the Recreation Centre, and will start at 16 o’clock.
