Crvenka’s handball players pulled off a real surprise, beating the Lions from Bačka Palanka 24:21 in the 8 round of the Super B League, with the halftime score at 11:10. The Squirrels’ win was a surprise because, as the bottom-placed team, they were up against the league leaders, and played without injured captain Ivić and Račić, while Stokanić was also absent from the squad. However, none of these setbacks prevented Crvenka’s players from putting on a brilliant defensive display that set up easy goals, especially for the speedy Šveljo. Šveljo was Crvenka’s top scorer with 8, while Egić also scored well, with 7 goals. Crvenka are eleventh in the table with 5 points, and travel to Vrbas in the next round.

In the autumn-season derby in the North Group of Serbia’s First League, Sivac 69 thrashed Jabuka in Crvenka, winning 26:19 (halftime 13:11). With this victory, Sivac have practically secured the autumn title and taken a major step toward their ultimate goal—promotion to the Super League. In the first half, Branko Žeželj’s players seemed a little tense, aware of the match’s importance, but inspired performances from Kalić and Kopanja, along with the consistently strong goalkeeper Bogojević, saw Sivac go into the break with a two-goal lead. In the second half, a superb defensive performance was capped by several easy goals on the counterattack, and the lead continued to grow. The match was effectively settled in the 51 minute, when Sivac went 22:15 ahead and maintained that advantage with disciplined play to the final whistle. The winning team’s top scorer was Vitomir Kalić, with 7 goals. Sivac 69 lead the First League table with all 18 points, and will host Hercegovina from Sečanj in the next round.

The young handball players from Crvenka also brought joy. Laki drew 23:23 with home team Jadran in Fe cetić in the 9 round of the first-division season. Jadran’s players were closer to victory and entered the closing stages three goals ahead, with the score at 23:20, but a goal from Milana Jović and two from Dragana Radulović earned Laki a point. After this round, Laki are ninth in the table with 6 points, and will host Spartak from Debeljača in the next round.

With a win in the 16 round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina Group, Hajduk 1912 are within reach of the autumn title. The team from Kula beat Radnički 1:0 away in Zrenjanin. Just how tough the hosts were is clear from the fact that they had lost only one match before facing Hajduk. But, as usual, Hajduk played a solid, patient game, and that approach brought them victory. The decisive moment came in the 61 minute, when Hajduk forward Strahinja Ilić beat the Radnički goalkeeper directly from a corner and secured the win for his team. Hajduk 1912 top the Serbian League, Vojvodina Group, with 41 points, and will host Vršac in the final round of the autumn season, confident they will leave the pitch as autumn champions.

Crvenka’s footballers lost 1:0 away to Tovankut in the 14 round of the North Group of the Vojvodina League. In the first half, Crvenka played better and created a couple of half-chances, the best of which fell to Kulić, who went one-on-one with the home goalkeeper but failed to hit the target. In the second half, Crvenka had more possession but created no chances. The match was decided in the 60 minute, when a Tovankut player sent the ball into the Crvenka penalty area with a free kick from around 30 meters out. It dropped in the six-yard box, nobody cleared it, and the ball ended up in the Crvenka net. Crvenka are eleventh in the table with 15 points, and will host Bačka from Pačir in the next round.

The municipal derby played in Kula at Geder marked the fourteenth round of the Sombor District League. Hosts Kula took on Lipar. Kula won 2:1. Lipar were the better side in the first half and Kovač’s goal gave them the lead at the break. In the second half, Lipar’s decision to protect their lead allowed Kula’s footballers to take the initiative, and goals from Janjić and Davidović secured the win. Rusin from Ruski Krstur drew 1:1 away to Vojvodina in Tovariševo, while our fourth representative, Polet, beat Radnički from Ratkovo 2:1 in Sivac. Rusin are second in the table with 27 points, Kula are eighth with 20, while Polet are fourteenth and Lipar fifteenth, each with 9 points. The final round of the autumn season features another municipal derby: Lipar will host Polet from Sivac, Rusin will host Hercegovac from Gajdobra in Ruski Krstur, and Kula will travel to Budućnost in Parage.
