Hajduk’s footballers did not follow up their opening Serbian League spring-season win in Bačka Palanka with another victory. In their first home match, they shared the points with a very disciplined and resilient Omladinac team from Novi Banovci, drawing 0:0. The match began with a minute of silence in memory of Hajduk’s recently deceased goalkeeper coach, Radovan Drinčić, and Hajduk’s players took to the field wearing shirts bearing “Drinja’s” likeness. As for the match itself, the home side looked more threatening in the first half. In the 22 minute, Branislav Manojlović shot from around fifteen meters out at an angle, sending the ball wide, and the same player missed the best chance of the first half in the 27 minute, when he headed Arešina’s cross from around ten meters straight in front of goal, but sent it over the bar. In the second half, the visitors had more possession but created no chances. The home side, meanwhile, threatened just once in the second half, when Matijević shot in the 85 minute following a solo run from 18 meters out, aiming beneath the crossbar, but Jagodić made a superb save and turned the ball behind for a corner, leaving the final score 0:0.
