The football season has begun in the Sombor District League, in which six clubs from Kula Municipality are competing: Hajduk Junior and Kula from Kula, Crvenka, Mladost from Kruščić, Rusin from Ruski Krstur, and Lipar. The first round featured two local derbies. In the first, played on Saturday in Crvenka, newcomers to the District League, Crvenka, defeated Mladost from Kruščić 4:0. Goals by Maleš, Miloš and Jovan Radmanović, and Kerekeš meant that coach Milan Vujaković’s team had the job done in the first half; had they been more clinical in the second, the win could have been more emphatic. The second local derby was played yesterday in Lipar, where Lipar hosted Hajduk Junior from Kula. The match ended in a 1:1 draw. The Kula side capped their better first-half performance with a goal by Davidović. But Lipar were the better side in the second half, and Kovač equalized, then had a golden opportunity to win it for the home team. All in all, a draw was the fairest result. Rusin from Ruski Krstur lost 4:1 away to Vojvodina in Tovariševo, despite taking the lead in the first half with a goal by Čizmar, while District League newcomers Kula lost 3:0 away to Stari Grad in Bačka Palanka.

In the next round, there will be another local derby: Rusin and Crvenka will meet in Ruski Krstur; Hajduk Junior hosts Vojvodina from Tovariševo in Kula; Kula will host Krila Krajine from Bačka Palanka at the Geder ground; Mladost hosts Budućnost from Mladenovo in Kruščić; and Lipar visits Slavija in Pivnice.
