In the final round, Sivac’s handball players defeated Srem from Sremska Mitrovica 40:27 in front of their home fans in Crvenka, with a halftime score of 18:14. In a match that had no bearing on the standings, the Sivac players showed greater determination, resolved to bid farewell to their supporters with a victory. Savo Bošković was Sivac’s top scorer, with 12 goals. Our other First League team, Crvenka, lost 33:30 to Jedinstvo away in Novi Bečej in the final round, with a halftime score of 18:12. Crvenka also played this match without several regular first-team players: backs Ivić, Egić and Gostović, pivot Pušica, and goalkeeper Karavezić. It was clear they could not catch league leaders Kikinda, so it made little difference whether they finished second or fifth. Račić was Crvenka’s top scorer, with 7 goals. Crvenka finished the season fifth in the standings with 25 points, while Sivac was 69 eleventh with 15 points and, unfortunately, is moving down to a lower division.
In round 29 of the Sombor District League championship, our five representatives earned just 2 point between them: one each for Lipar and Hajduk Junior. Lipar drew 0:0 against Krila Krajine in Bačka Palanka, while Hajduk Junior drew 2:2 against Hercegovac in Gajdobra. The hosts led 2:0, but Kula’s team earned a point with goals from Furtula and Branko Janjić. In the round’s derby in Ruski Krstur, league leaders Mladost from Bački Petrovac defeated Rusin 2:0. Mladost from Kruščić lost 6:0 away to Slavija in Pivnice, while Sivac’s Polet lost 6:1 away to second-placed BSK in Bački Brestovac. Milović scored Polet’s consolation goal. Hajduk Junior are fourth with 42 points, Rusin are fifth with 41, Lipar are twelfth with 35, Mladost are fifteenth with 30, and Polet are bottom, in sixteenth place, with 16 points. The final round features a municipal derby: Hajduk Junior and Rusin from Ruski Krstur meet in Kula; Lipar host Slavija from Pivnice; Mladost host ŽAK from Sombor in Kruščić; and Polet host Bорац from Bački Gračac in Sivac.
The Sombor Intermunicipal League First Division season has ended. Kula lost 4:2 to champions Stanišić in front of their home fans, despite taking a 2:0 lead through goals by Zlatić and Mirko Radulović, and missing several other good chances. Our other representative, Crvenka, ended the season with a win. In Kljajićevo, Crvenka beat Kordun 2:1 with goals from Subotić and Kerekeš. Crvenka finished second in the standings with 42 points and will try to reach the District League through playoff matches. Crvenka’s opponent in the playoffs will be Budućnost from Parage, with the playoff matches scheduled for June 3 and 10. Kula finished the season third in the standings with 32 points.
In the penultimate round of the second division of the Sombor Intermunicipal League championship, KFK, the football club from Kula, drew 2:2 with Dinamo from Sonta in front of their home fans. Gаčević and Sabo scored for KFK. KFK are currently eighth in the standings with 18 points, and will visit Telečka in the final round, a team that has not earned a single point.
