In the municipal derby played as part of the 10th round of the first-tier handball championship, Crvenka’s handball players, playing away, defeated league newcomers Sivac 69 31:26, with the halftime score 15:11 in Crvenka’s favor. The youth of Crvenka proved more successful than Sivac’s experience—that is the briefest assessment of the municipal derby. Crvenka’s young team imposed their style of play from the first minute: solid in defense, waiting for technical errors by their opponents, who were slow to recover after making mistakes, allowing the players coached by Radosav Kovačević scored easily and by the 11 minute had built a 4-goal lead ( 6:2). Once the “Sivac” handball players had collected themselves a little, they began to close the gap and Bošković in the 17 minute had a chance to equalize at 7:7, but his counterattack was saved by Pavićevićand Crvenka regained a four-goal lead and went into the break with that advantage (15:11). When they went ahead 24:15 in the 42 minute, it was clear that the points would stay in Crvenka, although Sivac’s handball players came within 26:22 with a run of 4:0, but simply could not get any closer. In the end, all the players from both teams had a chance to show themselves to the crowd, and the loveliest sight came at the end of the match, when they mingled at center court and greeted the spectators, who applauded their performance. The top scorer for Crvenka was Dragiša Račić with 8, and for Sivac’s team Savo Bošković with 6 goals. Crvenka are currently second in the standings with 16, while Sivac 69 are ninth with 7 points. In the final round of the autumn part of the season, Crvenka host Jedinstvo from Novi Bečej, while Sivac 69 visit Srem in Sremska Mitrovica.

Although they played without their captain Sandra Lovrethe Crvenka handball players managed to make up for her absence and record a valuable win. The standout scorers for the “Laki” team were Jovana Jović by 7 and Srna Sukur who scored 6 goals. The “Laki” team is currently sixth in the table with 10 points, and will travel to face “Radnički” in Bajmok in the final round of the autumn season.
