In the first round of the spring half of the Serbian Second Futsal League, Vojvodina group, Hajduk Futsal Club lost 3:1 away to TeEfKa in Temerin. The Kula side are currently sixth in the table with 8 points, and in the next round they host Viking from Ruma in front of their home fans.
The spring half of the football season in the Sombor District League has begun, with five clubs from the Municipality of Kula competing: Hajduk Junior from Kula, Rusin from Ruski Krstur, Mladost from Kruščić, Lipar, and Polet from Sivac. Only Rusin’s players were successful in their spring opener. Playing away, the team from Krstur beat Krila Krajine in Bačka Palanka 2:1 thanks to goals by Oros and Katona. The biggest surprise of the opening round was Hajduk Junior’s defeat. Kula hosted Stari Grad from Bačka Palanka, who deservedly beat the home side 3:0 and took the points. Lipar lost away to ŽAK in Sombor 1:0, Mladost from Kruščić were beaten by BSK in Bački Brestovac 2:0, and Polet from Sivac lost to Budućnost in Mladenovo 2:0. After this round, Rusin are fourth in the standings with 28, Hajduk Junior are fifth with 27, Mladost are tenth with 19, Lipar are thirteenth with 18, and Polet are second from bottom, fifteenth, with 8 points. In the next round, Rusin host Slavija from Pivnice in Ruski Krstur; Lipar host second-placed BSK from Bački Brestovac; Mladost host Borac from Bački Gračac in a local derby in Kruščić; Polet host Hercegovac from Gajdobra in Sivac; and Hajduk Junior travel to Bačka Palanka to face Krila Krajine.
The bright spot in First League handball is Laki from Crvenka, which recorded its second consecutive spring win in the 13 round of the championship. In Mokrin, the young women from Crvenka beat Mladost from Srpska Crnja 31:26, with the halftime score 17:12. Laki’s top scorer was Jovana Jović, who scored 10 goals. Laki is sixth in the standings with 14 points and hosts Sloven from Ruma in the next round.
In round 13 of the men’s first-league handball championship, in the top-of-the-table derby, leaders Kikinda defeated second-placed Crvenka in Crvenka by 29:27, with the halftime score 14:11 in favor of the visitors, and have thus most likely already secured the championship title and promotion to the Super B League. In the derby, the teams played goal for goal for most of the first half, but toward the end Crvenka’s handball players made a couple of technical errors, which the experienced Kikinda team punished, going into the break with a three-goal lead. However, early in the second half, Crvenka’s young handball players managed to equalize in the 35 minute, but then their performance dipped; Kikinda regained a three-goal lead and comfortably saw out the match. Dragisha Rachich was Crvenka’s top scorer, with 8 goals. Our other representative, Sivac 69, lost to ŽSK from Žabalj by 28:23 in a bottom-of-the-table derby, playing at home in Crvenka, although Sivac had won the first half 16:14. Sivac’s handball players made a brilliant start and had a seven-goal lead by the 11 minute—the score was 8:1. Sivac’s players brought their stunned opponents back into the game with their own mistakes; the visitors took advantage of Sivac’s errors and cut the deficit to a respectable two goals by halftime. And when only seven goals are scored in 30 minutes of the second half, as Sivac managed, defeat is inevitable. With this loss, Sivac’s handball players have further jeopardized their first-league status and now face a fierce battle to avoid relegation. Kalić was Sivac’s top scorer, with 9 goals. After this round, Crvenka’s handball players are second in the standings with 19, while Sivac 69 are eleventh with 7 points. In the next round, Crvenka visit Srem in Sremska Mitrovica, while Sivac visit Jabuka.
