The football championship began last weekend in the leagues that include clubs from Kula Municipality.
In the opening round of the Bačka Group of the Vojvodina League, Polet’s footballers from Sivac lost 3:1 to Zadrugar away in Srpski Miletić. The match was evenly contested until the 22 minute, when Strahinja Komazec was sent off after receiving two yellow cards. The hosts capitalized on their numerical advantage, and the first half ended 1:0 in Zadrugar’s favor. They extended their lead to 2:0 in the second half, but Karin gave Sivac hope by scoring to make it 2:1. Despite being a player down, Polet’s footballers tried to equalize but failed, and the hosts scored a third goal right at the end to secure the win. Polet will travel again in the next round, facing Tekstilac in Odžaci.
Of the four teams from Kula Municipality competing in the Sombor District League, only Mladost from Kruščić enjoyed success in the opening round. They beat Terekveš from Svilajevo 6:0 at home. Rusin lost 4:1 to Graničar from Gakovo in Ruski Krstur, while Kula suffered a heavy 6:0 defeat to OFK Šikara from Sombor at the Geder ground. Lipar, our fourth representative at this level, lost 3:0 away to BSK in Bački Brestovac. The second round features a municipal derby: Lipar and Kula meet in Lipar, Mladost host Stanišić in Kruščić, and Rusin travel to Hajduk in Stapar.
