Sports preview

Football will once again be the focus of attention for sports fans in Kula Municipality this weekend.

The fourth round of the championship in the Sombor District League is on the schedule, with six clubs from our municipality competing. Three of our representatives will play on Saturday and three on Sunday. On Saturday, Hajduk Junior will host Budućnost from Mladenovo in Kula. The Kula side are determined to make amends for their defeat in Crvenka. Mladost will host Bорац from Bački Gračac in a local derby in Kruščić on Saturday. Buoyed by their away win in the previous round, the Kruščić side are predicting another success. Lipar’s footballers will also take to the field tomorrow. Lipar will visit league leaders Stanišić in what promises to be the round’s derby, as the two undefeated teams so far this season meet. Lipar know the home side have the advantage, but they will not give up easily.

On Sunday, Kula will host ŽAK from Sombor at the Geder stadium. Zoran Malivuk’s team have suffered three defeats, and if they want to move off the bottom of the table, they must win. Rusin from Ruski Krstur are in a similar situation: after three consecutive defeats, they host Hercegovac from Gajdobra on Sunday. Our sixth representative, Crvenka, visit Pivnice on Sunday to face Slavija. This match will be a real test for Crvenka, who have won three in a row, so it is understandable that they want to continue their successful run in Pivnice. Matches in the Sombor District League will start at 16 o’clock.
