At the proposal of the Competition Committee of the Serbian Handball Federation, a decision was made to cancel the 2019/2020 season. However, in keeping with the wish to maintain promotion and relegation between all levels of competition, the men’s Super A League will comprise 16 clubs next season instead of the previous 14, with the teams divided into two groups of eight during the first half of the season.
The Elite League will be filled through a playoff, in which clubs that register and pay a deposit of 400 thousand dinars may participate. According to information from Handball Club Crvenka, it seems likely that the "Squirrels" will take part in the playoff for promotion to the Super A League, as the handball players are working hard under coach Vladimir Zejak, while the club's management is making efforts to secure the deposit. It will be known in the coming days when the playoff to fill the Super A League will be played.
