Crvenka’s handball team suffered another defeat in the Serbian ARKUS Super League. Last night, in a postponed match from the sixth round, the “Squirrels” lost to Proleter of Zrenjanin in their home court, 33:25. The teams were evenly matched only during the first twenty minutes, when Crvenka had several opportunities to take a three-goal lead, but failed to do so. After the score reached 10:8 in Proleter’s favor in the 24 minute, the visitors went on a 5:0 run and went into the break six goals ahead, at 15:9. It was already clear then that Crvenka’s handball players had neither the strength nor, more importantly, the will to try to turn things around, and they suffered a heavy defeat. Crvenka were without injured captain Radonjić, young backcourt player Mitrović, pivot Vukadinović, and goalkeeper Karavezić, but their absence cannot justify the lackluster performance of the rest of the team. Milan Bošković was Crvenka’s top scorer with 10 goals. Crvenka remain bottom of the table without a point, and next round, on Saturday at home, they host reigning Serbian champions Vojvodina of Novi Sad.
