Crvenka handball players defeated as the Serbian ARKUS Super League resumes
Crvenka’s handball players marked the resumption of the Serbian ARKUS Super League with a defeat. In round 12 of the championship, Crvenka hosted Partizan from Belgrade. The Belgrade team won 37:31, with the halftime score at 20:16 for Partizan. The match had no competitive significance, as Partizan had secured a place in the playoffs, while Crvenka will play in the relegation playoffs. The match therefore served Crvenka coach Vladimir Zejak only as a good warm-up for the upcoming match against Proleter in Zrenjanin. Ivić and Savić were Crvenka’s top scorers, with five goals each.

In the 13 round of the Serbian ARKUS Super League championship, Crvenka's handball players visit Zrenjanin, where they will face Proleter. This match is extremely important for the “Squirrels,” because a potential win would see them carry 4 points into the next phase of the competition, thereby improving their chances of staying in the handball elite. The match between Proleter and Crvenka will be played in Zrenjanin on Wednesday.

Over the past weekend, football clubs took the opportunity to assess their progress during pre-season with friendly matches, but only one of the three scheduled matches was played. Serbian League side Hajduk beat hosts Lipar, of the Sombor Intermunicipal League First Division, 6:1 in Lipar on Saturday, with a halftime score of 5:0. The team from Kula are certainly the stronger side, and the convincing win can also be attributed to the fact that Hajduk began training on 18 January, while the match against Hajduk marked the start of Lipar’s preparations. Branislav Manojlović scored twice for Hajduk in Lipar, while Božović, Šušnjar, Laćarak and Miloš Manojlović scored one each. Kovač scored for Lipar. Hajduk’s next warm-up match will be on Wednesday, when they host Mladost GAT from Novi Sad in Kula. Lipar will visit Iskra in Kucura next Saturday, and host BSK from Bački Brestovac on Sunday. Two more matches had been scheduled over the past weekend. Vojvodina League side Crvenka were due to host Polet from Sivac yesterday, but the match was postponed until 10 February due to bad weather. Before then, Crvenka will play Mladost in Kruščić next Sunday. District League side Rusin were due to host Budućnost from Savino Selo in Ruski Krstur yesterday, but the match was not played because the hosts were informed that the team from Savino Selo could not field a side. Rusin’s next friendly will be on Sunday, when they face Njegoš in Lovćenac.
