Handball, football, and basketball take center stage for sports fans this weekend

Handball, football and basketball will be the focus of sports fans in our municipality this weekend.

In the third round of the handball Super B League, newcomers Sivac 69 host Voždovac from Belgrade. Sivac have made a great start to the season, earning three points from their two matches so far, and are surely looking forward to facing Voždovac with confidence. Buoyed by their win against Crvenka, and noting that they are playing in front of their home fans, Sivac’s handball players are predicting another win. The Sivac 69–Voždovac match will be played tomorrow in the newly built Sivac sports hall, kicking off at 19.

Our other representative in the Super B League, Crvenka’s handball players, visit Bogatić in the third round of the championship to face Mačva. The match will show whether Crvenka’s players have recovered from the defeat they suffered in front of their home fans in the previous round. The Mačva–Crvenka match will be played in Bogatić on Sunday, starting at 19 hours and 30 minutes.

After five consecutive defeats, Hajduk’s footballers host Železničar from Pančevo in Kula in the eighth round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina Group. A good result in the upcoming match is imperative for Hajduk, as anything else would put them among the teams fighting to avoid relegation. However, a good result will not come easily, as Železničar are the only team in the league to have won every match so far this season. The match between Hajduk and Železničar from Pančevo will be played tomorrow at the Milan Sredanović Stadium, starting at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

In the eighth round of the Vojvodina League, North Group, Crvenka’s footballers visit Čonoplja, where they will take on Sloga. The home team are at the top of the table, playing in front of their own supporters, and are clear favorites. For that very reason, Crvenka’s footballers can play without the pressure of the result and confirm that their form is improving. The Sloga–Crvenka match will be played tomorrow in Čonoplja, starting at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

In the eighth round of the Sombor District League, Rusin’s footballers from Ruski Krstur visit Ratkovo to face Radnički. This is a matchup between mid-table teams with the same number of points, so any result is possible. The Radnički–Rusin match will be played in Ratkovo on Sunday, starting at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

In the eighth round of the Sombor Intermunicipal League, First Division, all four teams from our municipality are playing at home. Kula appear to have the easiest task, as they host OFK Odžaci at Geder, the only team yet to earn a point. Lipar host Borac from Bački Gračac, Polet host Lider from Odžaci in Sivac, while Mladost host Hajduk from Stapar in Kruščić. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday, starting at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

In the first round of the First Serbian League – North Group, Hajduk’s basketball team hosts Nova Pazova. This will give basketball fans in Kula the chance to see Hajduk’s new lineup, strengthened by several new players. Good work during the preparation period is the foundation on which Hajduk’s players are building their optimism ahead of the match against Nova Pazova, and they say that, with support from the stands, they will win their opening game. The match between Hajduk and Nova Pazova will be played tomorrow in the Petefi Brigade Elementary School gym and will start at 19.
