Community work at Potok recreation area: Crvenka residents delighted by the return of their favorite picnic spot

A community workday was held today at the Potok picnic area between Crvenka and Nova Crvenka to improve the site, with around 20 volunteers taking part. Residents gathered to contribute through their work to bringing this once very popular picnic area back to life.

As part of the initiative, the area around the lake is being cleaned up: vegetation and waste are being removed, the surroundings tidied, and the site prepared for visitors to return. The work is also being carried out on Sundays, showing how much the people of Crvenka want Potok to regain the appearance remembered by generations who spent time here in nature.

It is particularly encouraging that the lake is also being filled with water from a nearby well, after having been dry for years. The return of water also means the return of life—birds, animals and people who have always seen Potok as a place to relax, socialize and enjoy recreation.

For many residents of the Municipality of Kula, and especially for the people of Crvenka, Potok is a place filled with fond memories and an important part of the local natural environment. That is why residents are delighted that the picnic area is being renovated and that, step by step, the beloved Potok of old is returning.

With work continuing and the community’s support, Potok is expected to once again become one of the area’s favorite “green oases”, where people can gather, relax and enjoy nature again.
