Sivac were expected to notch up a win against the bottom side, but in the end had to fight to salvage a point. Although they played without regulars Slavuljica, Beslać, and Šain, Sivac’s handball players were at times six goals ahead. They led 22:16 in the 43 minute; in the 54 minute Sivac were ahead 25:22, before the visitors scored a run of 4:0 and took a 26:25 lead in the 59 minute. Hajduk’s women’s volleyball team earned a valuable, and most likely title-winning, victory in their 11-round Second Vojvodina League match away in Novi Bečej, beating Jedinstvo 3:0 in sets. The set scores of 25:10, 25:9 and 25:16 show how determined Hajduk were to preserve their place at the top with a straight-sets win. Milica Sekeruš was Hajduk’s best player; according to coach Vuk Malenica, her powerful serves and attacks prevented the hosts from taking even one set. Hajduk have 26 points and lead the table. In the next and final round, they will host “Respekt” from Kovilj; a win would earn them the championship title and promotion to the First Vojvodina League.
