Hajduk’s footballers defeated league newcomers Podunavac 1:0 while playing away in Belegis in their round 12 match in the Serbian League, Vojvodina Group. Hajduk center-forward Marko Matijasevic scored the winning goal from the penalty spot. Hajduk head coach Zeljko Racic said it was a very difficult match against an awkward opponent, a so-called home team that played aggressively, and that the three points earned were very important. However, those three points came at a high cost: in the 12 minute, Hajduk player Nikola Sakic suffered a very serious injury, a double leg fracture. He was taken by ambulance to Zemun Hospital for surgery, and everything else that happened in the match was overshadowed by the injury. Hajduk are currently tenth in the standings with 17 points, and will host Borac from Sajkas in the next round.
With a victory in front of their home fans, Rusin’s footballers from Ruski Krstur took over the top spot in the Sombor District League standings. In round 12, Rusin defeated Borac of Bački Gračac 3:0, with the score at halftime 2:0; all three goals were scored by young Mateja Sajanković. Rusin coach Zlatko Sajanković says his players took the game to their opponents early, leading 2:0 after just eight minutes, then calmly extended their advantage. Lipar’s footballers also delighted their fans, defeating Kordun 3:0 away in Kljajićevo. The match was effectively decided in the first half, when Bogdan Đukić scored twice and Marko Lalić once to give Lipar an insurmountable lead. Our third representative in the Sombor District League, Crvenka’s footballers, lost away in Parage. They were defeated 3:1 by Budućnost, with the halftime score 1:0 in favor of the home side. It was one of Crvenka’s poorer performances. They played with ten men from the 61 minute, but even after Faćol was sent off, they managed to equalize and took the initiative, only to falter in the closing stages and suffer defeat. Rusin are top of the table with 31 point, Lipar are fourth with 25, and Crvenka are fifth with 23 points. The next round features a municipal derby, as Crvenka and Rusin meet in Crvenka. Lipar will host ŽAK of Sombor.
The twelfth round of the Sombor Intermunicipal League, First Division, was marked by a municipal derby. At the stadium in Geder, hosts Kula faced league leaders Polet of Sivac. The match ended in a 1:1 draw, which seems the fairest result. Both teams had their chances: Sivac hit the woodwork twice, while Kula failed to convert a penalty. Šarac scored to put Kula ahead, and Marković equalized. Our third representative, Mladost of Kruščić, lost 4:2 away to hosts Polet in Rastina. Grdinić and Kilić scored for Mladost. Despite the draw, Polet’s footballers retained top spot in the standings with 28; Kula are third with 27, and Mladost are twelfth with 7 points. In the next round, Mladost and Kula will meet in a municipal derby in Kruščić, while Polet will host Radnički of Sombor in Sivac.
In the 6 round of the Vojvodina Futsal League, Hajduk's futsal players lost 5:2 to Omladinac away in Novi Banovci. The hosts gained a decisive advantage in the first half, which they won 4:0, so that Kula's players only managed to reduce the margin of defeat by scoring twice in the second half. Marković and Milan Bogićević scored for Hajduk. Hajduk's futsal players are currently eighth in the standings with four points, and have a bye in the next round.
Crvenka’s handball players recorded their first defeat in the sixth round of the Super B League championship. Playing away in Lazarevac, Crvenka lost to Kolubara by 29:28, with the halftime score 12:11 in Crvenka’s favor. Throughout the first half, Crvenka were the team in the lead, and at the start of the second half their advantage reached three goals, with the score at 15:12 in Crvenka’s favor. Kolubara then went ahead with a run of 4:0 and managed to hold on to the lead, ultimately claiming victory. Late in the game, Crvenka’s handball players missed a couple of clear chances and failed to convert two penalty throws, and the defeat was a consequence of those misses. Crvenka coach Vladimir Zejak noted that he had also faced personnel problems: pivot Racic missed training all week due to a viral infection, and Tasic was also absent. This affected the team’s play and accuracy in attack, which the experienced Kolubara side knew how to exploit, earning a deserved win. Cabelo was Crvenka’s top scorer against Kolubara, with 7 goals.
Our other Super League team, Sivac 69, lost 29:27 to the Lions from Belgrade in front of their home crowd, with the half-time score 14:12 in the Lions' favor. The Sivač team took a 4:1 lead, but the experienced visitors patiently turned the game around and went three goals ahead in the 25 minute, when the score was 12:9 in the Lions' favor. When they took a 23:17 lead in the 45 minute, it was clear that Sivac's handball players would have difficulty making up the difference. They did try, and in the 57 minute they closed the gap to two goals, but could not get any closer. It should also be noted that Sivac's backcourt player Žegarac left the team before the match against the Lions and transferred to Vrbas. Beslać was Sivac's top scorer, with 10 goals.
After six rounds, Crvenka’s handball players are second in the standings with 9, while Sivac 69 are eleventh with 2 points. The next round features a municipal derby: Crvenka and Sivac 69 will meet in Crvenka.
Unlike the Sivac men’s handball players, the Sivac women’s team, Krule, came as a pleasant surprise. In the fifth round of the First League for Women, the Krule Women’s Handball Club won 26:24 away against Mladost in Srpska Crnja, with the halftime score at 13:13. With a run of 3:0 at the start of the second half, Aljoša Bikićki’s players took the lead and held on to it, eventually claiming victory. Aleksandra Jelenković was Krule’s top scorer with 9 goals. Our other First League team, Laki from Crvenka, lost 28:20 at home to Spartak from Debeljača, with Spartak leading 16:11 at halftime. Laki’s players were competitive only during the first ten minutes, as shown by the score being tied 5:5 in the 12 minute. After that, the visitors from Debeljača took the initiative, built a lead, and deservedly won. Anđeli Lovre was Laki’s top scorer, with 14 goals. After this round, Krule is fifth in the standings with 4, while Laki is seventh with 2 points. In the next, sixth round, Krule will host Železničar 2 from Inđija in Sivac, while Laki will visit Mladost in Srpska Crnja.
Hajduk’s basketball players came as an unpleasant surprise when, in round 5 of the Northern Group of the Serbian Regional League, they lost at home in Kula to Sveti Djordje from Zitiste by 91:83, with the halftime score 47:45 in the visitors’ favor. Although they were favorites, having entered the game with three wins and one loss while the visitors had three losses and just one win, Hajduk failed to live up to that role. Sveti Djordje controlled both the game and the score throughout, allowing the home side to take the lead only briefly at the start of the third quarter, by 49:47. Bogdanovic, with 20, and Tesovic, with 19 points, were Hajduk’s leading scorers in the defeat to the team from Zitiste. With three wins and two losses, Hajduk are third in the standings. In the next round, they will travel to face Zeljeznicar in Indjija.
Hajduk’s women’s volleyball team suffered its first defeat in the third round of the Northern Group of the First Vojvodina League, playing away in Subotica in a difficult match. Subotica beat them 3:2 in sets. The first two sets went to Subotica, who won them 25:19 and 25:15. However, Hajduk won the third and fourth sets 25:19 and 25:21, so the winner was decided in a tie-break. Subotica’s players showed greater concentration and won the fifth set 15:9, earning two points while Hajduk took one, keeping them in contention near the top of the table. In the next round, Hajduk will host CVS Elbrako from Sombor.
In the third round of the First Vojvodina League, East Group, Hajduk’s volleyball players recorded their first win away in Novi Sad. They defeated Botafogo 3:0 in sets 25:20, 25:15, and 25:15. Ilija Bašić also put in a noteworthy performance, standing out in attack. With three points earned, Hajduk’s volleyball players are currently fourth in the standings, and in the next round they will host their neighbors, Vrbas, who have yet to earn a point.
