In the tenth round of the Super B League, both of our representatives, Crvenka and Sivač 69, were playing away and returned from those matches defeated. Crvenka’s handball team played the round’s derby away in Ub, where they lost 31:30 to the hosts. The defeat hurts because the “squirrels” played excellently for most of the match, winning the first half 18:11. They had a seven-goal lead in the 47 minute, when the score was 27:20, and led 30:27 in the 56 minute. The hosts then took advantage of Crvenka’s errors in attack and won with a run of 4:0. First, Delibašić was called for a charge in attack, then the home goalkeeper stopped Bošković’s shot, and Tasić shot over the goal. Each of those mistakes was punished with a goal by the hosts. Crvenka had 25 seconds to attack and possibly equalize, but Tasić made a mistake, and the hosts celebrated. Crvenka’s top scorers were Čabrilo and Bošković, with 8 goals each. The match was evenly balanced during the first ten minutes or so, as confirmed by the score of 4:4 in the tenth minute. In the second half, the Vrbas handball players opened with a run of 3:0, built a seven-goal lead, and then comfortably maintained it until the final victory.
-We failed to find a solution in attack against the home team’s aggressive defense, and made a lot of technical errors that allowed Vrbas to score “easy” goals. That is why we lost in Vrbas, says Branko Žeželj, coach of the Sivac handball team.
Sivac’s captain Beslać was the team’s top scorer, with 7 goals. Sivac’s handball team remains at the bottom of the table with 4 points, and in the final autumn round they will host Spartak from Subotica in front of their fans.
