OUR MONEY BUILDS OUR COMMUNITY!
Property tax is one of the most significant sources of revenue for a local government unit. Although property tax collection has improved, there is still a lack of consistency when it comes to declaring property, and consequently in the collection of the tax itself.
A possible cause of disagreement between taxpayers and their tax obligations is a lack of understanding of how tax revenues are spent, as well as insufficient taxpayer involvement in decisions on how local self-government budget funds are used. It is therefore crucial to raise residents’ awareness in the Municipality of Kula about access to information and participation in the decision-making process on this matter WHERE THE FUNDS RAISED THROUGH PROPERTY TAX COLLECTION ARE SPENT.
In order to inform and consult citizens and encourage their more active participation in this area, the Municipality of Kula has decided to take part in the program “Property Tax Reform”.
Through this project, we hope to promote transparency in the work of local authorities, update the database and encourage civic activism in decision-making, as well as establish a partnership and strengthen the role of residents through their direct involvement in matters of public interest.
As partners in the project, local communities will play an important role in this process and serve as the first point of contact. For any questions or information, proposals or suggestions, you can contact us or the Kula Municipal Service Center. Information about the progress of this project will also be published on the official website of the Municipality of Kula, through social media, and in local and regional media.
