Four clubs from Kula Municipality will compete in the Sombor Intermunicipal League First Division next season, which will begin on 22 or 23 August: Kula, Polet from Sivac, Lipar and Mladost from Kruščić. Although the start of the league is approaching, not all the teams have begun training yet. So far, the players of Lipar, Polet from Sivac and Kula have assembled, which could indicate that they are taking the new season seriously and are keen to move up a division. Lipar Football Club makes no secret of this goal. Lipar began training in mid-July and, under the leadership of player-coach Milan Šegan, is working at its home ground. It has also played two friendlies so far.
In Ruski Krstur, they beat district league side Rusin 3:0, while they lost to Vojvodina League side Crvenka 2:1. Lipar’s title-winning ambitions are evident from the fact that four players have joined the club. Banović and Marčetić returned from Pannonia, centre-forward Kovač came from Crvenka, and Nestorović returned from the TSC top-flight club’s academy in Bačka Topola. Since no one has left the squad, it is clear that Lipar will be considerably stronger going into the new season. Lipar’s footballers will have their next warm-up match this coming weekend, when they face BSK in Bački Brestovac.
Polet footballers from Sivac began training on 10 July. According to coach Milan Živković, Polet will promote youth in the coming season, because apart from the experienced Romić, Ilić and goalkeeper Đurišić, all the other candidates for the starting lineup are young players who also represented Polet last season. The club has so far brought in young players Srđan Josović and Aleksa Kalentić from Hajduk, as well as Miroslav Varga from TSC Bačka Topola, and is targeting several more players. As part of their preparations for the coming season, Polet will play a friendly against Dunav from Bački Monoštor at their home ground in Sivac on Sunday.
Kula’s footballers began training on 26 July. What is certain is that Kula will be stronger in the new season. Igor Stojanov and Gačević have returned to the club, as has Đođić, who came back from Crvenka, and negotiations are still underway with Filip Vujović. As part of their preparations, Kula will play a friendly match on Sunday. They will host Elan from Srbobran at the Geder.
Mladost’s footballers from Kruščić will begin preparations for the new season on Sunday. Coach Damir Kilić will call the players together on Sunday and immediately take them to Bački Gračac for a friendly match against Borac. So far, there have been no arrivals or departures from the Mladost squad, so they will enter the new season with last season’s roster.
And while we’re talking about football, we should also mention that Serbian League side Hajduk 1912 will play a friendly against Sloga from Čonoplja tomorrow; Vojvodina League side Crvenka will host Sutjeska from Bačko Dobro Polje over the coming weekend; and District League side Rusin will host Iskra from Kucura tomorrow in Ruski Krstur.
