Another exciting sports weekend lies ahead for sports teams from the Kula municipality, featuring football, volleyball, handball and basketball.
In the fourth round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina group, Hajduk’s footballers are away in Bačka Palanka, where they will face Stari Grad. The Kula side disappointed in the previous round, losing at home, while Stari Grad won away in the previous round and will surely want to build on that victory by achieving another success in front of their own fans. This only goes to show that things will be far from easy for Hajduk’s players, but as the saying goes: adversity reveals the Hajduks. If Hajduk’s footballers give their very best, they have a realistic chance of returning from Bačka Palanka satisfied. The Stari Grad–Hajduk match will be played in Bačka Palanka tomorrow, kicking off at 16 hours and 30 minutes.
The fourth round of the Sombor District League will feature a municipal derby: Crvenka will host Rusin from Ruski Krstur. Both teams lost in the previous round and will be looking to make amends, promising an entertaining football match. The match between Crvenka and Rusin from Ruski Krstur will be played tomorrow at the Milorad Džomba Stadium in Crvenka, kicking off at 16 hours and 30 minutes. Our third representative in the District League, Lipar, will host Budućnost from Gložan. Lipar have earned just one point in their first three rounds, and it is understandable that they say they will register their first win on Sunday, with the help of their fans, at 16 hours and 30 minutes.
In the third round of the Sombor Inter-Municipal League First Division, Kula are the only one of our three representatives playing at home. Kula will host BSK from Bački Brestovac at the Geder ground. Polet from Sivac visit Dunav in Bački Monoštor, while Mladost from Kruščić travel to Omladinac in Deronje. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday and will kick off at 16 hours and 30 minutes.
The group stage of the nighttime five-a-side football tournament currently underway in Crvenka ended last night. The matches produced the following results: in the junior competition, Flamingo beat Polet from Sivac 4:2. In the first senior match, MM Gvožđara and Ugled drew 2:2, while in the second, Vatros beat ATV Panonija 7:3. Tonight, in the junior competition, Rudna Glava and Polet from Sivac will face off at 19 hours and 30 minutes. The senior quarter-finals are on tonight’s schedule. In the first match, starting at 20 hours and 10 minutes, Vatros will take on MM Gvožđara; in the second, at 21 o’clock, Pink Panther will play Celtic Pub; in the third, at 21 o’clock and 50 minutes, Malina will face Komunalac; and in the fourth, starting at 22 o’clock and 40 minutes, Ugled will play Autodelovi Ferrari.
Hajduk’s volleyball players, new members of the Second Republic League, will also take to the court this weekend. The Kula side will host Kikinda in a qualifying match for the Serbian Cup in Vojvodina. The match will be played on Sunday in the Petefi Brigade Elementary School gym, kicking off at 11 hours. The winner of this match will host Banat from Vršac in the quarter-finals of the Serbian Cup in Vojvodina.
Our other sports clubs will use the weekend to play friendly matches, giving them the chance to assess their preparations so far.
Crvenka’s handball players, members of the Super B League, will play a friendly match against Herkuleš from Gajdobra, a member of the Serbian First League – Vojvodina group, this evening. The match in Gajdobra will begin at 19 hours and 30 minutes. A decision on the coach of Handball Club “Crvenka” is also expected today, as current coach Vladimir Zejak has resigned.
Hajduk, members of the First Serbian League, travel to Novi Sad tomorrow as part of their preparations for the new season, where they will play a friendly match against Star, members of Serbia’s First B League, starting at 13.
