Handball, football and tennis to feature in the upcoming sports weekend

With their defeat in Ruma, the women’s handball team “Laki” from Crvenka ended their First League season last night. In the final round of the championship, the young Crvenka handball players lost to Sloven in Ruma 40:26 last night, with the halftime score 20:9 in favor of the hosts. Sloven lived up to their role as favorites, and given that Laki coach Zoran Lovre had only eight players at his disposal, little else could have been expected. Anđeli Lovre was Laki’s top scorer with 11 goals. Laki finished the First League season in ninth place with 12 points.

The upcoming sports weekend will feature handball, football and tennis.

The final round of the Handball Super B League will feature a municipal derby, as Crvenka and Sivac 69 meet in Crvenka. Since both teams have secured their place in the Super League, the municipal derby has little competitive significance, but it should be a good handball match, as free of worries, both Crvenka and Sivac will want to show all the beauty of the game. The match between Crvenka and Sivac will be played tomorrow at the Slobodan Čile Mišković sports hall in Crvenka, starting at 19.

In round 28 of the Serbian League, Vojvodina group championship, Hajduk host Tekstilac from Odžaci. The people of Kula have no choice; only a win against the strong Tekstilac side will give them a chance to remain in the Serbian League. Hajduk’s players are aware of this and say that, with support from the stands, they will give their all and achieve their planned goal. The match between Hajduk and Tekstilac from Odžaci will be played at Milan Sredanović Stadium on Sunday, kicking off at 17.

In round 27 of the Sombor District League, all three teams from our municipality will play at home. Tomorrow, Crvenka's footballers will host Budućnost from Mladenovo at the “Milorad Džomba” Stadium. Crvenka have been excellent this spring, recording just one defeat in their eleven matches, and say they intend to continue their successful run against the team from Mladenovo. On Sunday, Rusin will host Budućnost from Parage in Ruski Krstur. Judging by the teams' positions in the standings, Rusin are favorites. Our third representative, Lipar, seem to have the easiest task, as bottom-placed Radnički from Sombor visit them on Sunday. All these matches will kick off at 17.

In round 24 of the first division of the Sombor Municipal League, Polet host BSK of Bački Brestovac in Sivac, Mladost host Hajduk of Stapari in Kruščić, while Kula travel to bottom-placed Graničar in Riđica. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday and will begin at 17.

Two tennis tournaments will be held in Kula tomorrow.

Helm Tennis Club from Kula is organizing a charity doubles tennis tournament tomorrow, “Tennis from the Block,” open to both active tennis players and amateur and advanced recreational players. The tournament will be held on the tennis courts by Rodić Lake in Kula, starting at 12, and all money raised from entry fees and donors will be donated to the Serbs for Serbs humanitarian organization.

The second tennis tournament taking place tomorrow in Kula is the “Kula Open Championships,” organized by Tennis Club “Hajduk” for orange-level players—girls and boys up to 10 years old. This is an official tournament, as it is included in the calendar of the Vojvodina Tennis Association. Matches will be played on Tennis Club “Hajduk”'s four courts. Aleksandar Popović, Novak Korać, Denis Grgurić, and David Barna will represent Tennis Club “Hajduk” at the “Kula Open Championships.” The tournament begins tomorrow at 10, and trophies and medals have been provided for the top participants.
