The upcoming sports weekend will feature numerous events

In the sixth round of the Serbian Super B League handball championship, both teams from our municipality are playing away. Second-placed Sivac 69 visit Ub, where they will face the team of the same name. Sivac have made an excellent start to the season and have not lost in the first five rounds, so coach Branko Žeželj says the team will travel to Ub with a great deal of confidence after these results. However, he urges caution, pointing out that Ub have beaten Crvenka. The handball match between Ub and Sivac will be played in Ub on Sunday, starting at 17. Crvenka’s handball players visit Belgrade, where they will face Voždovac. The “Squirrels” have no choice: only a win will keep them within some kind of reach of the teams aspiring to the top of the table, while any other result would practically eliminate them from the race for promotion to the top handball league already. The match between Voždovac and Crvenka will be played in Belgrade tomorrow, starting at 21.

The fifth round of the First League championship for women's handball will be marked by a municipal derby. Crvenka's Laki and newcomers to the First League, Krule from Sivac, will meet in Sivac. Both teams have had a poor start to the season: Laki have no points, while Krule have earned just one, so an evenly matched game is to be expected. The municipal derby is made even more exciting by the fact that many of the players in Krule learned to play handball at Crvenka's Laki. Laki are the home team, but the match will be played in Sivac because the Crvenka sports hall is being renovated. The Laki–Krule match will take place in Sivac on Monday, starting at 19.

In round 11 of the Serbian League Vojvodina championship, Hajduk’s footballers visit Ruma, where they will face “1 May.” In the previous round, the Kula team secured a very important win that restored their shaken confidence, and they are looking ahead to the clash with the Ruma team with optimism. It is true that 1 May are higher in the standings and playing at home, and that Vujosević and Mihailo Božović will be absent from the Hajduk team following their dismissals in the previous round. However, Hajduk’s footballers say that if they play responsibly and with commitment, as they did in the previous round, they can hope for a good result. The match between 1 May and Hajduk will be played in Ruma tomorrow, starting at 14 hours and 30 minutes.

The eleventh round of the Sombor District League is scheduled for this weekend, and two of our three representatives will play their matches tomorrow. Crvenka’s footballers host ŽAK from Sombor tomorrow. The visitors are in the upper part of the table, while Crvenka will be without the speedy Marko Kerekeš, who must sit out after being sent off in Lipar. Despite this setback, coach Goran Poletanović’s players must go for a win if they want to move toward the middle of the table. Lipar’s footballers will also be in action tomorrow. They travel to Tovariševo, where they face Vojvodina. Buoyed by three consecutive wins, Lipar’s players say they will continue that run in Tovariševo with a fully committed performance. Our third representative in the Sombor District League, Rusin from Ruski Krstur, host Kordun from Kljajićevo on Sunday. Rusin’s players believe a win will confirm last week’s victory in Silbaš. All these matches will begin at 14.

In the tenth round of the Sombor Intermunicipal League First Division, Polet will host bottom-placed Zadrugar of Srpski Miletić in Sivac, Mladost will host BSK of Bački Brestovac in Kruščić, and Kula, who share top spot, will travel to Terekveš in Svilojevo. All these matches will be played on Sunday and will kick off at 14.

In the fifth round of the Vojvodina Futsal League, Hajduk host ŽAK Junior of Sombor. The match will be played on Monday in the Petefi Brigade Elementary School sports hall and will begin at 21.

In the fourth round of the Northern Group of the First Republic League championship, Hajduk’s basketball players visit Futog. Coach Danilo Borović’s team have won all three of their opening matches, while Futog have lost all three, making Kula the favourites. As for Hajduk’s roster, Suvajdžić will miss the Futog game for personal reasons. Captain Škrbić and the most experienced player, Bajić, are back in training, though it remains to be seen whether they are fully fit. Despite these issues, Hajduk are travelling to Futog for their fourth win. The match between Futog and Hajduk will be played in Futog tomorrow, starting at 18 hours and 30 minutes.

In the second round of the Northern Group of the Second League championship, Hajduk’s volleyball players travel to Bavanište. Hajduk made their debut in the higher division with a defeat, so they will certainly want to make amends against Bavanište. The match between Bavanište and Hajduk will be played tomorrow in Kovin, starting at 20.

In the second round of the First Vojvodina League championship, Hajduk’s volleyball team host Subotica. The match will be played at the Petefi Brigada Elementary School sports hall on Sunday, starting at 19.

In the sixth round of the First Vojvodina League championship, Hajduk’s bowlers host Bačka from Novi Sad. The match will be played on Sunday at the bowling alley in Vrbas, starting at 16.
