Agriculture Minister Branislav Nedimović said the state would introduce special measures for farmers because, as he noted, it has been shown time and again how important this sector, and food production, is to Serbia.
“We will have two types of measures. Direct support for the current liquidity of agricultural holdings, which will be provided through the Agrarian Payments Administration in the form of subsidized loans, and on a larger scale. On the other hand, we will have sectoral support for activities that have been particularly exposed to market problems over the past month,” Nedimović told RTS.
As he said, these are activities related to the hospitality sector, such as small dairies, as well as early vegetable growers linked to green markets, and so on.
According to him, a package of measures already established will follow for farmers registered as legal entities, who will also be able to count on that component.
