Defeats for Crvenka and Sivac handball teams

The past sports weekend was marked by defeats for the Crvenka and Sivac handball teams, and a win for Hajduk’s footballers.

In the eighth round of the Serbian ARKUS Super League, Crvenka’s handball players recorded their eighth defeat. Crvenka lost 35:21 at home to reigning Serbian champions Vojvodina from Novi Sad, with the halftime score 19:10 in favor of the visitors. Vojvodina were, of course, favorites in a match in which Crvenka played without goalkeeper Vitas, backcourt players Mitrović and Radonjić, pivot Vukadinović, and coaches Zejak and Mitrović, who were absent for health reasons. Club director Vladan Račić and Davor Horvat therefore led the team from the bench. When Vojvodina’s players went ahead 11:3 in the 17 minute, it was already clear who would win, and from then on the only question was by what margin the champions would triumph. Crvenka’s top scorer was Veljko Čabrilo with 6 goals.

Crvenka’s handball players are bottom of the table without a point, and in the next round they travel to Subotica to face Spartak.

Sivac’s handball players lost 33:31 at home to Inđija in the 8th round of the Super B League, with the halftime score 18:16 in favor of Inđija. The visitors were better in the first half, leading throughout and going into the break with a two-goal advantage. Sivac’s handball players played better in the second half and took the lead in the 37th minute, when the score was 20:19 in favor of Sivac. However, this turned out to be Sivac’s only lead in the entire match, as the visitors immediately went on a run of 3:0, took a 22:20 lead, and held on to that two-goal advantage until the end. Beslać was Sivac’s top scorer with 10 goals. Sivac 69 is currently seventh with 7 points, and will visit Lavovi in Bačka Palanka in the next round.

Crvenka’s handball women were also unsuccessful. In round 7 of the First League season, Laki lost 38:17 to Spartak from Debeljača in Crvenka. The visitors were clear favorites, as their performance and result confirmed, and everything was settled after just 30 minutes, as Spartak’s handball players took the first half 21:7. Laki’s top scorer was Nikolina Bulatović, who scored 9 goals. Laki are currently ninth in the table with 4 points, and in the next round they travel to Temerin.

Hajduk’s footballers defeated Kozara from Banatsko Veliko Selo 6:1 at home in Kula in the 18th round of the Vojvodina group of the Serbian League, with the halftime score 2:1. The “Hajduks” put in a very good performance, and their dominance is illustrated by the fact that the visitors crossed into Hajduk’s half seriously only once, scoring their consolation goal on that attack. Hajduk center-forward Nikola Furtula was the standout player, scoring three goals. Laćarak and Bogićević also scored, while a Kozara player put the ball into his own net.

Hajduk’s footballers are currently fifteenth in the table with 22 points, and in the final round of the autumn half of the season they will visit bottom-placed Vojvodina in Perlez.

In round 16 of the northern group of the Vojvodina League championship, Crvenka’s footballers visited Novi Kneževac, where they lost 3:2 to Obilić. Obilić led 2:0, but Crvenka’s players, with two goals from Babić, managed to equalize. A few minutes before the end, however, Crvenka’s defense lost concentration, which Obilić’s players took advantage of to score a third goal and claim victory. Crvenka are fourteenth in the table with 15 points, and will host league leaders Vojvodina from Bačko Gradište in the final round of the autumn half of the season.

In the final round of the autumn half of the season in the Sombor District League, Rusin from Ruski Krstur lost 4:2 to hosts Slavija in Pivnice. Rusin took the lead with a goal from experienced player Srđan Đukanović, but the home side did not give up, turned the score around and went ahead 4:1. Filip Vujović then scored Rusin’s second goal to set the final score. Rusin finished the autumn half of the season in the Sombor District League in fourth place with 32 points.

In the 10 round of the Vojvodina Futsal League, Hajduk from Kula visited Vrbas and faced Leteci Holanđanin. The result was the same as in their first match in Kula, when Leteci Holanđanin beat Hajduk 10:1. Bjekić scored Hajduk’s only goal in Vrbas. Hajduk are fourth in the table with 10 points, and will host ŽAK Junior from Sombor in the next round.

Hajduk’s basketball players disappointed, losing 89:83 away to Podrinje from Mačvanska Mitrovica in the 8th round of the First Serbian League. Since Hajduk had beaten Podrinje by more than 40 points in the first round of the season in Kula, coach Danilo Borović’s team was expected to get through the away game in Sremska Mitrovica without difficulty. And it looked as though they would, as Hajduk led 47:37 at halftime. However, in the third quarter Podrinje punished Hajduk’s poor play, winning that period 32:18 and managing to preserve their lead until the end to secure the victory. Hajduk, with a record of five wins and three losses, is near the top of the standings and will host Srem from Sremska Mitrovica, who have won every game, in the next round.

After five consecutive wins, Hajduk’s volleyball players lost away to Stražilovo in Sremski Karlovci in the sixth round of the First Vojvodina League championship. Stražilovo beat them 3:2 in sets. It is worth noting that Hajduk played without its two most experienced and best players, Bigić and Marić, and their absence was keenly felt. Hajduk’s volleyball players won the first set 25:21, while the home team won the second by the same score. Hajduk took the third set convincingly, 25:15. In the fourth set, Hajduk led 15:10, but the home side found the strength to win the set 25:20. This led to a psychological collapse among Hajduk’s players, who were practically only spectators in the tiebreak. Stražilovo won the tiebreak 15:3 to record the victory. With 16 points, Hajduk’s volleyball players are near the top of the table, and in the next round they will host Novi Sad 2.
