Free saplings to be distributed in Crvenka on Friday

Thanks to an initiative launched on social media and the response of many of our residents, the Municipality of Kula has joined the “Plant Your Shade” campaign. A public distribution of 30.000 saplings will be held at noon on 9 April throughout Serbia, and in our municipality at the “Potok” picnic area in Crvenka. The saplings have been provided with the help of socially responsible companies that want to green the places where we live and care about the health of citizens.

This is not merely an environmental campaign aimed at combating climate change; it also serves a health function, since every tree is a unique green lung. The campaign is distributing two-year-old ash saplings, along with planting instructions. The number of saplings is limited, and each person can receive no more than one sapling!

Each sapling bears the sponsor’s logo as well as a QR code that you can use to register it and follow the instructions for its further growth. The other side of the tag is left for your name and the planting date.

After distributing 60.000 saplings during the autumn and spring campaigns, the organization's plan is to distribute 300.000 saplings to residents in the coming years and thereby create healthier places for all of us to live.

The “Plant Your Shade” project is aligned with the objectives set out in pre-accession Chapter 27, as well as with the goals of the World Economic Forum’s “Trillion Trees” initiative in Davos, where our organization is a partner for sustainable environmental solutions in the Republic of Serbia. The project is also aligned with the European Green Deal, in which clean air in urban areas is one of the pillars of the circular economy, and is supported by numerous institutions.
