Hajduk’s footballers’ win and Sivac’s women handball players’ promotion to the Serbian First League marked the weekend

The past sports weekend was marked by Hajduk’s victory and by the Sivac handball team Krule’s promotion to the Serbian First League.

Hajduk’s footballers defeated Radnički 1912 from Sombor 2:1 at home in the 36 round of the Serbian League, Vojvodina group. Although they were without injured captain Vuković, as well as Vujović, Branislav Manojlović and Rajkovača, Hajduk’s footballers found the strength to defeat the league’s third-placed team. It was not easy: the visitors’ quality was rewarded with the opening goal in the 23 minute, and the teams went into halftime at 0:1. Radnički controlled the game in the second half as well, until Kula turned the match around between the 75 and 80 minutes. First, in the 75 minute, Šušnjar equalized from an Arežina assist; then, in the 80 minute, Matijević scored a superb goal to give his team the win.

Hajduk are currently twelfth in the table with 52 points, and in the next round they travel to Kozara in Banatsko Veliko Selo.

Sivac’s handball team, Krule, has been promoted to the Serbian First League. On Saturday, in the final round of the Second League season, the Sivac team defeated Apatin 24:21 at home, with the half-time score at 12:11. With only one defeat, they finished the season top of the table and secured promotion to the Serbian First League, Northern Group. The match against Apatin was not significant for Krule’s league standing, but Aljoša Bikički’s players wanted to crown the season with a win. They controlled both the game and the score throughout and deservedly came out on top. Krule’s top scorers were Milica Rabrenović with 8 goals and captain Aleksandra Jelenković with 7. After the match, Second League director Marko Menićanin presented the team with the trophy, donated by the Handball Federation of Vojvodina for the champions. The players also received commemorative medals. Jela, the sister of the late Nenad Vučinić, after whom the club is named, presented flowers to the players on behalf of his family.

Crvenka’s footballers defeated Budućnost 3:1 away in Tovariševo in the 31 round of the North group of the Vojvodina League. Crvenka were dominant in every aspect of the game, taking a 2:0 lead into halftime before seeing out the match with a routine performance in the second half, claiming three points and preserving their theoretical chances of retaining their Vojvodina League status at the end of the season. Kerekeš, Babić and Končar scored for Crvenka in Tovariševo. Crvenka are currently fifteenth in the standings with 33 points, and in the next round they host Vrbas in a local derby.

In round 31 of the Sombor Regional League, Rusin’s footballers from Ruski Krstur lost 4:3 away to hosts Tvrđava in Bač, with the half-time score at 2:0. The hosts had a 3:0 lead, but Rusin fought back with goals from Kulić, Kovačević and Branković to level the score at 3:3. The hosts then scored a fourth goal to secure the win. Rusin is currently fifth in the table with 46 points and will host Budućnost from Mladenovo in Ruski Krstur in the next round.

The twenty-fourth round of the first division of the Sombor Intermunicipal League was marked by the municipal derby in Lipar, where Lipar defeated Kula 4:1, with a halftime score of 2:0, thus justifying their second place in the standings. Kovač scored twice for Lipar, while Lalić and Čestić also scored; Žarić scored Kula’s consolation goal. In Sivac, Polet drew 1:1 with OFK Odžaci. Varga scored to put Sivac ahead, but Odžaci earned a point with a free-kick goal. Mladost from Kruščić, our fourth representative at this level, lost 3:0 away to Terekveš in Svilojevo. Lipar are second in the standings with 55 points, Polet are fifth with 33, Kula are seventh with 32, and Mladost are eleventh with 16 points. In the next round, Kula will host Terekveš from Svilojevo at the Geder ground, Mladost will host Omladinac from Deronje in Kruščić, Lipar will visit Aleksa Šantić, while Polet from Sivac have a bye.

In the final round of the Serbian First League, Vojvodina group, Hajduk’s bowlers lost 6:2 in points to Spartak from Debeljača, playing as hosts in Vrbas, and 3300:2634 in pins knocked down.
