Lighting the Yule log in all localities

Christmas Eve is celebrated solemnly in all localities in our municipality, with the traditional lighting of the Yule log.

In Kula, the blessing and lighting of the Yule log will, in keeping with tradition, take place at two locations. First, in front of the Church of St. Mark, where the blessing and lighting of the Yule log will begin at 14 hours and 30 minutes. In Kula, the blessing and lighting of the Yule log will also be held at Jaroš, organized by the local communities, starting at 19. Gifts will also be handed out to children, and mulled wine and tea will be provided for all visitors, along with live music.

In Crvenka, in the courtyard of the Church of Saint Sava, the Yule log will be blessed and lit by the parish priest of the Saint Sava church, Presbyter Miloš Petrović, at 15 hours and 30 minutes.

The procession with the Yule log will set off through Sivac today at 14. Afterwards, the Yule log will be lit in the schoolyard, beside the grounds of the Church of Saint Nicholas, followed by the distribution of Yule logs and sweets inside the Church of Saint Nicholas.

In Lipar, the Yule log will be lit in front of the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, in the center of the village, starting at 18. On the occasion, gift packages will be distributed to all the children from the kindergarten, as well as to students attending religious education through grade 4. At midnight, Christmas Matins will be celebrated at the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God in Lipar.

The traditional Christmas Eve celebration will be held tonight in the center of Kruščić, in the local community, at 17 hours and 30 minutes. Along with lighting the Yule log, the organizing committee has made sure that the children of Kruščić receive a gift package. All children, from newborns through fifth-grade pupils, will be included in the distribution. Any children of that age who are visiting Kruščić and attend the Christmas Eve celebration will also receive a gift package. The organizing committee estimates that more than 300 packages will be distributed.

In the Nova Crvenka Local Community, the Christmas Eve celebration and lighting of the Yule log will take place in the church grounds next to the Pensioners’ Club, starting at 16 hours and 30 minutes.

The Yule log will also be lit in Ruski Krstur. It will be set alight from 17 at the village center, in front of the Kod Malog Čave restaurant.
