Humanitarian hygiene and food packages arrived today at the offices of the Kula Municipal Red Cross Organization. Neda Rajačić of the Kula Red Cross thanked Sigma from Kula for the donation and Kula Municipality, whose cooperation made it possible.
- These packages will be distributed in the coming period to socially disadvantaged residents across the Municipality of Kula. In Kula, distribution is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday, at the Red Cross Kula premises, from 08 to 12. Distribution is also scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday in Ruski Krstur, at the Local Community premises, from 09 to 13. In Sivac and Crvenka, the packages are scheduled to be distributed on 04. January, from 08 to 12, at the Sivac library and the Crvenka Cultural Center. Some of this significant donation will also be distributed in Kruščić and the settlement of Lipar; recipients will be notified later, said Rajičić.
She expressed special thanks to the Municipality of Kula for the excellent cooperation they have maintained for years and their openness to all social issues, as well as for implementing measures and resolving problems affecting socially disadvantaged groups in line with available resources.
“When it comes to the Red Cross, I am thinking above all of the care for children that has been provided here for many years. It could not be delivered without good cooperation with the local government and the budget funds allocated for these activities,” Rajačić concluded.
Kula Mayor Damjan Miljanić pointed out that this year, primarily because of the situation affecting our municipality and country, as well as the whole world, aid is being distributed throughout the year to the most vulnerable groups.
- The Municipality of Kula carries out these activities primarily through the Center for Social Work and the Kula Red Cross. Good cooperation with the business community means that business owners very often respond either to an appeal from the municipality or from our organizations, as is the case here. More than 20 thousand aid packages have been distributed this year for various reasons. Some were provided directly from the Municipality of Kula’s budget, some through the Center for Social Work, and some through the Kula Red Cross. The funding sources are mainly municipal, but there have also been major donations from businesses in our municipality, especially the company “Sigma,” which has helped our fellow citizens both today and in the past, said Miljanić.
