Last night, in the final round of the Second Vojvodina League championship, Hajduk’s women’s volleyball team beat Respect from Kovilj 3:0 in sets at home in Kula, secured first place and earned promotion to the First Vojvodina League. The women from Kula needed a straight-sets win to retain their position at the top of the standings. Hajduk won the first set 25:12, but the second was much more closely contested, with Hajduk taking it 25:20. Buoyed by their strong performance and the positive energy from winning the first two sets, Hajduk also won the third set 25:15, achieving their goal: they took first place and earned the right to compete in the First Vojvodina League next season.
As for the other team sports, their competitions are gradually drawing to a close.
In the final round of the Serbian League Vojvodina group, Hajduk will host Vojvodina from Perlez in Kula. Anything other than a home win would be a major surprise, as Vojvodina are bottom of the table, while Hajduk have gone unbeaten in their last six matches and will certainly want to end the season with a win. The match between Hajduk and Vojvodina from Perlez will be played tomorrow at the Milan Sredanović Stadium, kicking off at 17 hours and 30 minutes.
The championship in the Vojvodina League, Northern Group, is also coming to an end. In the final round, Crvenka’s footballers visit Vojvodina in Bačko Gradište. Crvenka are in a very difficult position and will most likely drop to a lower division next season, since only a reorganization of the competition would allow them to remain in the Vojvodina League, and then only if they win in Bačko Gradište. The match between Vojvodina and Crvenka will be played tomorrow in Bačko Gradište, kicking off at 17 hours and 30 minutes.
In the penultimate round of the Sombor District League, Rusin from Ruski Krstur travel to face Polet in Karavukovo. Both teams have put their concerns about their league status behind them, so we can expect an entertaining match, played without the pressure of the result. Polet and Rusin will meet in Karavukovo on Sunday, kicking off at 17 hours and 30 minutes.
In the final round of the Sombor Inter-Municipal League First Division, Lipar’s footballers host OFK Odžaci. Having secured second place, Lipar will also use the match to prepare for the playoff, through which they will try to reach a higher level of competition. Our other three clubs are playing away. Sivac’s Polet visit champions Bratstvo in Prigrevica, Kula are guests of Omladinac in Deronje, and Mladost from Kruščić will face Hajduk in Stapar. All these matches are scheduled for Sunday and will kick off at 17 hours and 30 minutes.
In the final round of the First League championship for women’s handball, Laki from Crvenka visit Ravangrad from Sombor. Ravangrad have not earned a point, while the young women from Crvenka have put their worries about staying up behind them and can play without pressure and win. The match between Ravangrad of Sombor and Laki of Crvenka will be played tomorrow in Riđica, starting at 20.
