From today at 17 until Monday at 5, the longest curfew

The longest curfew since the state of emergency was introduced will begin today at 17 and last until 5 on Monday morning. The same schedule will apply every subsequent weekend.

The state introduced this measure because recent weekends have shown that Saturday and Sunday are the days when streets, parks and picnic areas are crowded, as people have ignored calls to stay at home even outside curfew hours, except for those going to work or shopping. The complete movement ban from Friday at 17 until Monday at 05 applies to everyone.

An exception is made for people over 65 years of age, who have been under a complete movement ban since the state of emergency was introduced: on Fridays they may shop for groceries from 04 to 07 in the morning, and may therefore go out on Fridays from 03 to 08.

Pet owners may also walk their animals every day from 23 to 01, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 08 to 10, for 20 minutes, no farther than 200 meters from their place of residence.

In cities, the complete movement ban applies to people over 65 years old, while in rural areas the age limit is 70. The movement ban for everyone applies every day from 17 until 05 the following morning.

Only those who have to work to keep everyday life running may be out and about at that time, but they need a special movement permit as well as a work order from their employer.

Business owners and farmers can also obtain movement permits for sowing and urgent work in the fields, as can people caring for others.
