Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Prof. Dr. Zorana Mihajlović, announced on TV Prva that intercity bus and passenger rail services will resume on Monday, 4. May, and that city transport in Belgrade and Niš will resume from 8. May.
Mihajlović emphasized that the measures in Serbia are being gradually relaxed, and that compliance with all safety measures will be mandatory in transport.
“Safety measures to protect our health and the health of others are paramount, and no one will be allowed on a bus or train without a mask and gloves. Bus services will run at full capacity, while estimates suggest that 30 percent of trains will be sufficient at this time,” she said.
“All citizens who wish to travel by plane will need to have a coronavirus test that is no more than 72 hours old, and when they land they will go into isolation,” Mihajlović said.
She told Prva TV that Serbia is ready to reopen air travel, but that this will be done in agreement with Europe, given that there are still no passenger flights anywhere.
