To protect against fires, Kula Municipality President Damjan Miljanić has issued an order banning the burning of crop residues (straw and stubble) during this year's harvest. This decision was made primarily because such practices are the cause of fires in most cases. A notice has also been issued explaining in more detail the conditions and procedures to follow in the event of a fire, as well as how to prevent one. All agricultural machinery used in harvesting and transport must be in good working order and equipped with appropriate fire-extinguishing equipment. In addition, operators of this machinery must be trained in firefighting and carry first-aid equipment. If they have any questions on this subject, citizens can call the following numbers: Kula Municipal Fire Association, 025/722-801, Kula Fire Unit, 025720-093, and the Municipal Harvest Headquarters, 025/722-302.
