This decision was made primarily because such practices cause fires in most cases. A notice has also been issued explaining in greater detail the conditions and procedures to follow in the event of a fire, as well as how to prevent one. All agricultural machinery used for harvesting and transport must be in good working order and equipped with appropriate fire-extinguishing equipment. Operators of this machinery must also be trained in firefighting and carry first-aid equipment. For any questions on this matter, residents can call the following numbers: Kula Municipal Fire Service, 025/722-801; Kula Fire Brigade, 025720-093; and the Municipal Harvest Headquarters, 025/722-302.
