Starting today, “Kulatrans” is selling monthly passes for student commuters, and regular transport to schools in all directions will be provided. This is the result of yesterday’s agreement between Kula Municipal President Dragan Trifunović, Deputy Municipal President Velibor Milojičić, interim capital representative at AD “Kulatrans” Stefan Gelevajčuk, and the transport company’s director, Ferenc Kozma.
The meeting was held ahead of the new school year to review the current situation at AD “Kulatrans” and ensure regular transport for student commuters, workers and all other residents of Kula Municipality. It was also stated at the meeting that a sufficient number of buses had been secured to provide the necessary number of departures on all routes.
In accordance with the municipal decision on subsidizing student transport at the expense of students or their parents, funds for monthly passes will be transferred. Parents and students have been urged to use “Kulatrans” for transport and thereby help the local carrier operate without disruption.
It was also agreed that implementation of this agreement and the transportation of children would be monitored daily, and that any problems would be addressed during the school year.
Students must buy their September monthly passes by Tuesday, September 3, 2013, as conductors will begin charging for tickets from September 4. If the Municipality has not transferred the funds for student passes by that date, the cost will be reimbursed to them.
