Residents of Nova Crvenka and their guests celebrated the village’s day on Sunday. Guests and locals gathered in front of the monument in the village centre to lay a wreath at the monument to the Salonika volunteers and honour those who took part in the wars of liberation from 1912 to 1918.
The program marking Village Day continued at the Cultural Center with welcoming speeches by the municipal president and the president of the Local Community Council. This was followed by a suitable cultural and artistic program, after which lunch was served to all guests celebrating Nova Crvenka Day.
Kula Municipality President Damjan Miljanić announced significant projects for the coming period for this smallest, yet very important, local community. He recalled that the road was built last year, one of the largest investments in local roads in the Kula municipality, while this year the local government has focused more on preparing project and technical documentation and the conditions needed to carry out the investments. Nova Crvenka has a project to replace asbestos pipes, which must be adapted to certain standards and rules set by the funding bodies. The Kula municipality has received nearly 1.5 million euros from the Public Investment Management Office, and Nova Crvenka will certainly be included in this work, the municipal president said. He also announced smaller but equally important projects, such as building a sidewalk along the main road and installing a speed bump. Finally, he noted that residents of this local community show a special love for the place and gather in large numbers for events.
The Nova Crvenka Day celebrations concluded with a concert for young people.
