Residents of Nova Crvenka and their guests celebrated the Day of this settlement. Along with the Settlement Day, Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag Day was also commemorated. The program began with guests and hosts gathering in front of the monument in the village center, after which a wreath was laid at the monument to the Salonika volunteers, participants in the wars of liberation from 1912 to 1918. In addition to representatives of the Municipality of Kula and the Nova Crvenka Local Community, wreaths were also laid by representatives of the Kula municipal SUBNOR and the “Staze” Association of Literary and Visual Artists. After the wreath-laying ceremony, poet Gavra Veselinović read his poem. A rich cultural and artistic program was also organized at the Cultural Center to mark Nova Crvenka Day. Participants included the aforementioned poet Veselinović from the “Staze” association, toastmaster Božidar Boško Miljanić, gusle player Pero Vujović from the “Marko Miljanov” Gusle Players’ Cultural and Artistic Society, and the Cultural Center’s children’s folk dance group. Kula Municipality President Damjan Miljanić congratulated the residents of Nova Crvenka on their holiday and noted that much had been done in their settlement, with further investments planned for the coming period that would greatly improve life in Nova Crvenka:
“Nova Crvenka is the smallest settlement in our municipality, but that is far from meaning that it receives the least investment. For the first time, practically since Nova Crvenka was established, a kindergarten is being opened. Certification is under way, and it is now a matter of days before it is completed and the kindergarten formally begins operating. Also, this year funds were approved, a building permit was obtained, and the project is now at the stage of announcing a public procurement tender for the completion of the water network replacement. In the previous period, the water network was replaced across roughly half of the village, and the worn-out pipes will be replaced throughout the entire village in the coming period. Water availability here is good, and the water supply problems during the summer months will finally be a thing of the past. What remains is to renovate the Cultural Center, which we will plan for the coming period, as well as build a chapel, for which the project documentation has been prepared. As for road infrastructure, the ‘Smile’ expressway will have an interchange between Crvenka and Nova Crvenka, so even though it is the smallest settlement, it will be connected to the expressway and motorway. Residents of Nova Crvenka like to say that long ago, when the railway ran through here, they could get on a train and go to Paris; now, the expressways will let them reach any destination in Europe.”
